I was protesting for the Equal Rights Ammendment in 1982 as a sophomore in college. We were told then if we didn’t pass it, we’d be fighting for our basic rights for the rest of our lives.
And thirty years later, we still are. In the United States of America, women are STILL second class citizens under our constitution. How dare us attack other countries for their human rights issues, when the majority of our own citizens (51%) still do not have equal rights right here at home!
Times are changing? From your mouth to G-d’s ears.
At least woman are allowed to drive here. So count your blessings girl !
But reading about it later was very depressing. They seemed to come so close…
Village Voice cover story on Wheelchair Sports Camp and its rapper Kalyn Heffernan:
http://www.villagevoice.com/20…
I’ve been meaning to check them out since they first got the VV cover back when I was in NYC in December. It totally slipped my mind.
I like the song;does Kalyn have a rap name?
I think she goes by “Kalyn.”
Where that Dinosaur/Musical instrument playground in the video is?
I recognize most of the other locations.
I think it’s a place called Svettesville.
It’s used as bumper music on a nighttime sports show I listen to. Caused me to go research the guy. I love his stuff.
If you prefer to see the musicians singing and playing, the “Live in the Studio” version is here.
Yawn. Been out with the stars three nights in a row. Takes its toll on an old man.
that I found out that the tune was used in an Apple commercial:
Looked it up after I heard it on the Apple commercial.
Shoot. As out of touch as I am these days, I never would have heard of Feist without this song from an iPod Nano commercial.
Based in, naturally, Brooklyn, now.
I want short hair, a decent tshirt and Eddie Vedder playing at my neighborhood party.
