You might want to start wearing that mask, Mr. Vice President:

  1. Her husband, Stephen Miller, has got to be pretty nervous right now.

Miller is a fixture around Pence and has attended the coronavirus task force meetings that he leads. She is married to White House senior policy adviser Stephen Miller. Trump attended their wedding at his Washington hotel in February.

      1. Let’s hope.

At any rate, he shouldn’t be advising $rump for at least 14 days.

So I looked up Katie Miller (née Waldman), because I was surprised that the white supremacist Miller had married a dark-complected woman.

She’s a conservative Jew (as is Miller himself), born in Florida. Her current position is as Pence’s press secretary, and her preparation for interacting with news media was in college, when she helped to destroy hundreds of copies of a student newspaper that made an endorsement she didn’t like.

        1. You noticed that, too, M.J? I had him down for a tall, willowy blond. Then again, he’s not all that tall himself. I still need help with a racist Jew.

  2. There's probably some pretty good job security for contact tracers in all of this, given K Miller and Trump's valet testing positive, and a decent number of recent Trump and/or Pence meetings, trips, and appearances – all combined with masks at best optional and the raw-dogging unprotected shaking of hands.

  3. I just heard the OD say, today…”This is going to go away by itself.”

C’mon, GOP. If you wait for voters to remove this madman, our country may not survive. As it is, all I can say is…

Welcome to the third world. Whatever will we do when the famine strikes?

  4.

This is from a Salon piece:

During his meeting with GOP members of Congress on Friday, Trump was pressed on not wearing a mask when visiting with elderly WWII veterans earlier in the day. The president said he was not concerned because he was "very far away from them."

"I would have loved to have gone up and hugged them because they are great. I had a conversation with every one, but we were very far away. You saw," Trump continued. "Plus the wind was blowing so hard in such a direction that if the plague ever reached them, I'd be very surprised. It could have reached me, too. You didn't worry about me, you only worried about them, and that's OK because I think they're so pure, it will never happen. Alright? They've lived a great life. But no, the wind was howling. And I didn't see anybody with masks, I don't know, maybe there were. But they were great." (emphasis mine)

    1. “They’re so pure, it will never happen”!!????

That is some seriously medieval Puritan  magical thinking right there. Right up there with shining light inside the body and drinking Clorox to “purify” the virus. Complete disregard of science.

Implication: People who are getting sick and dying are somehow “impure”?.I.E., they deserve it, or brought it on themselves? Jayzis freaking Christ on a motorcycle.

Pro Tip for WWII veterans, or anyone really- avoid personal meetings with the President. He has now been exposed to Covid19 at least twice, and is probably transmitting the virus. Stay safe!!!

      1. On second look, though, the other comment is even more nuts….

        "They've lived a great life."

Is he trying to say they have lived long enough and so if he endangers them it doesn't matter? That's how I read it.

        1. In this Washington Post video, $rump gets right up in the vets faces. The wind blows towards him at first; later, it’s blowing from him towards the WWII veterans. No one is masked. No one is distancing. Pure photo op.

Utter disregard for the veterans’ safety. But what would you expect from the man who dodged a GOP debate  by pretending to promote a fake veteran’s charity, then pocketed the money

Veterans have never been more than a fundraising prop for $rump.
