Victor Marx Raising Real Money In Governor's Race

Victor Marx doing call time.

A press release from upstart Republican “high-risk missionary” gubernatorial candidate Victor Marx celebrates a substantial first fundraising report, which appears to put him at the head of the Republican primary pack in terms of both dollars raised and cash on hand:

The Victor Marx campaign for Colorado Governor is proud to announce an impressive first financial filing, revealing that the campaign has raised $603,110.75 as of December 31, 2025 with over $330,638 cash on hand. The success of this first quarter is all thanks to 4,133 donors representing all 64 counties across Colorado! This remarkable achievement underscores Marx’s position as a clear front-runner among candidates vying for the Republican nomination for governor.

Victor has rapidly energized new and longtime Republican voters across Colorado, building a powerful and growing grassroots movement with over three million followers across all social media platforms! Since he announced in October, Victor’s videos have been viewed over 62 million times, with nearly 4 million interactions across all channels!

“Everywhere we go, people want change. Safer communities and greater affordability. But above all, they crave a return to common sense in Colorado,” said Victor Marx, Republican candidate for Colorado governor. “Every single dollar of support symbolizes a hope for a brighter future for our state. You can feel the excitement!”

We don’t have Q4 numbers yet for the other Republican candidates, but “Both Ways Barb” Kirkmeyer pulled in just under $189,000 in Q3 of last year. Kirkmeyer will need to show a substantially stepped-up effort for Q4 in order to remain competitive, and it’s worth noting that both of these candidates combined have raised only a fraction of what the two Democratic primary contenders have pulled in so far. Marx has contributed relatively little of his own money to his campaign, only $20,000. It’s been suggested that Marx’s outreach to church congregations is responsible for his large number of small donations, the same donor base that reliably produces the petition signatures for abortion ban measures Colorado voters shoot down every few years.

Don’t ask us where this colorful sideshow ends, but Victor Marx has laid down a marker that he means business in this Republican gubernatorial primary, and it will be much harder for insiders to write him off now. With Greg Lopez going unaffiliated to run his latest dead-end vanity campaign free from oversight and Mark Baisley abandoning his futile bid for governor for an equally futile run for U.S. Senate, the primary field could winnow down to a Marx vs. Kirkmeyer slugfest pretty quickly now.

Allow us to bestow the name this game has earned: Marx-mentum is a thing.
