Back in June, we took note of a series of photo-op stops by America’s Most Vulnerable Incumbent™ Rep. Gabe Evans to locations in his district who have been or are about to be negatively impacted by policies of the Trump administration, and in particular the “We’re All Going To Die Act” federal budget bill for which Evans cast the deciding vote to pass in the U.S. House. From community health centers to food banks to renewable energy manufacturers like Vestas in Evans’ district, a clear pattern has been established in which Evans shows up for photos and “dialogue” only to vote against all of these interests back in Washington.
Well folks, now you can add the United Parcel Service to the list of Gabe Evans doom knocks:

We’re obscured the face of the UPS driver who was unlucky enough to be assigned Rep. Evans as a ride-along. It’s good policy, but also we’d hate for that poor guy to take the blame for this:
Bank of America analysts on Thursday downgraded both FedEx (FDX) and UPS (UPS), setting price targets on shares that were among the lowest on Wall Street.
The analysts cut their rating on FedEx to “neutral” from “buy,” trimming their target by $5 to $240, one of the lower ratings compiled by Visible Alpha and below the average above $269, though above recent prices. Their move on UPS was more dramatic, swapping a neutral rating for an “underperform” and setting an $83 target that is the lowest tracked by Visible Alpha and well below the mean near $107. Its shares were recently around $84.
In both cases, the downbeat changes come with the stocks in the red for the year so far as the S&P 500 has risen.
Bank of America cited “increased pressure on volume and costs” at both companies, noting the recent move by the Trump administration to close a tariff exemption for certain low-value items. [Pols emphasis]
Rep. Gabe Evans celebrated the Trump tariffs when they were originally announced last spring to global shock and dismay as a master pool player’s rack break–“it seems like everything’s in flux, but at the end of the day” Trump’s genius would be clear to everybody and a New Golden Age of Americans growing their own coffee and bananas would commence! Unfortunately, as we all know now, that hasn’t happened, and the tariffs have settled in as just one more destabilizing piece in a domestic economic picture that’s more precarious than ever. By ending the de minimis exemption for millions of small overseas purchases, end consumers are being directly impacted, which naturally leads to hard times for shipping companies.
And now you can add UPS to the roster of American institutions Gabe Evans should be apologizing to instead of cosplaying with.
