New GOP Guv Candidate's Unbelievable Endorsement List

Brought to our attention this morning is a new Republican candidate for governor of Colorado by the name of Jason B. Lopez–not to be confused with perennial Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Lopez already in the race:

Like you, we don’t know anything about Jason B. Lopez, so we headed to Lopez’s website to learn more. The first thing we noticed is that none of Lopez’s “In the News” news items linked to anything, and they’re all dated from May–most unusual for a candidate who filed to run for office just last week.

And then we clicked on Lopez’s endorsement page:

Where we were greeted with a list of people who we’re pretty sure do not exist. Have you ever heard of U.S. Senator Christine York? Or this guy?

We don’t know what state the District 61 Brian Blunt represents is located in, mostly because we can’t find a “Rep. Brian Blunt” anywhere–but in Colorado, District 61 is represented by Democratic Rep. Julie McCluskie.

What’s going on here? Did you wake up in a parallel universe where a bunch of people you’ve never heard of are running the country? Your guess is as good as ours–all we did was click on the link in Lopez’s TRACER filing. We have to think this is some kind of template website not ready for prime time–but like Heidi Ganahl discovered to her chagrin with her “Lorem Ipsum” Issues page, you’re supposed to fix these things before you launch your campaign.

Stock photo endorsements, on the other hand, never rescind.
