   1. Friedman is an Obama liberal and worse. I’m sure the people in Boulder will receive him warmly even if they don’t understand a word he says, which they won’t.

         Sometimes critics use the word [self-parody] figuratively to mean the artist’s style and preoccupations appear as strongly (and perhaps as ineptly) in some work as they would in a parody.

         You never cease to bring me great guffaws AS with your blinding lack of knowledge or self-reflection.  You are one funny man(?) regardless of if you attempt to be or not.

         (PS-lots of the fearsome liberals loathe Friedman–where do you think the snark term Friedman Until came from anyhow??).

   1. From Beirut to Jerusalem was superb. And his writing back then had a number of original insights. But with success he now mostly write a lot of trite ideas he hears from others.

   1. the “Distinguished Speaker Board” tends to be pretty balanced in who they bring to campus…even if they do overpay…

      Last year was Madeline Albright, once it was Rudy Giuliani, Desmond Tutu, Kofi Annan, BB King…
