Pols Meet-Up This Sunday

  • by: redstateblues

The time and date were confirmed as Sunday at 4:00, but we never really firmed up a place. I call on you, polsters, to try your best to figure this out so we can get together on Sunday. It would be really nice if everyone who is planning on attending could weigh in today.

If no consensus is reached today, then I move to postpone until next month.

If there is a consensus, I won’t be able to stay very long since my wife’s grandparents are having us over for dinner that evening.

Good luck.

  1. The Yardhouse in JeffCo.

Vine St. Pub in Denver was also mentioned.

I really have no preference. It’s more about what works for everyone’s schedules and mobility.

  2. From Dr. Dobson & Douglas Bruce, who are solely authorized to issue exit visas from Colorado Springs, I’ll show…as long the place serves a crap chardonnay.

  3. For me, either some place in Jeffco, or someplace within a half-mile radius of the 16th Street Mall (allowing me to get there by light rail), would work. If it’s out east someplace, I probably won’t make it (I suppose that could be an incentive for picking a place out east!).

            1. Although, I suppose I must fess up and bow to the “truth.”  I’ve ridden the 15 several times (but not regularly), and I’ve never seen anything scandalous.  Perhaps my air of authoritay keeps everyone in line.

  4. If not, I still vote for something smack-dab in the 16th Street Mall/LoDo/Civic Center corridor. Lot’s to choose from, mutually convenient, and politically correct. (I don’t know what that last one means either).

    1. We’ll give it until tomorrow.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say Yard House, simply because it’s easy to find, and they take credit cards unlike Vine St. Pub. Plus, it’s so close to the Colorado Pols HQ that at least one of the Dead Guvs couldn’t possibly say no. Unless, you know, they’re busy or something.

      Anybody with me?

      1. I go for Kinga’s. Easy to get to on Colfax, only a little east of Capitol.

Yard House might still remember the night a party turned very fun; dancing on the tables and bars and other things. And it is way west of here.

      2. I’ve mapped it out, and although there is a bus from Boulder to Golden, it doesn’t run on weekends. Going through Denver would take 1:45, which I don’t think I’m prepared to do. So I’d be out.

Kinga’s seems much closer to downtown.

  5. I’ll go to one when it’s smack-dab in the 16th Street Mall corridor, within a half-mile of the Mall itself (in any direction). There’s a ton of choices within that area, and it’s bound to be the most mutually convenient location.
