Pelosi Rickrolls Congress

  • by: Jeff Bridges

Old people can have their C-SPAN. Earlier this month the legislative branch launched HouseHub and SenateHub, a pair of YouTube channel where we the citizens can watch videos of our favorite elected officials who aren’t the President. To celebrate, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi posted what at first looks like a video of cats pattering around her office, but about thirty seconds in we get… RICKROLLED!

While I assume Pelosi didn’t come up with the idea herself, the fact she let her staff do something like this makes her one cool cat. Rar.

h/t twodgszk. Video after the jump…

  1. So Speaker Crackerjack thinks it’s funny to have the first African-American President of the United States turn into a cat? She needs to learn some respect.

          1. I have a feeling that later this year a whole bunch of ’em will show up if any diaries are about me and my campaign.

Maybe they can have their own numbering system to make them feel special. Something like DA13?  Or, M[aroon]88?

          2. Isn’t it nice out today! It’s wonderful to be outside. I got an email from a friend of mine in Vermont–with wind chill factor, minus 37 degrees. We’re supposed to be in the 50s’ today in Estes Park. That’s almost a 90 degree difference. Yikes!

    1. could change into a cat and that would be fine?  That’s racist.  See, here in America we strive to treat all races the same (we’re still working on it, but that’s the goal).  Elevating one above changing into cats makes it seem like you’re saying that that race is better than the others, the literal definition of racism.

Unless you’re a cat lover, in that case not giving some races the right to be changed to cats would be the racial insult.

    1. It’s like when a flock of seagulls attacks someone.  Most anyone’s said the group’s name in years, possibly ever.  I’d kill for a Wikipedia page.

  2. When I was an intern in the house in 1990 I delivered messages, etc. to then speaker Foley’s office.  Man, it is one hell of a palatial office up there.  Absolutely beautiful.

And, yes Nancy, sweet Rick Roll.
