We’ve updated The Big Line in the wake of a big news week in politics and new fundraising numbers in state legislative races.

Check it out and prepare your complaints.

  1.

    1. Please add Lib and Green contenders.

I agree with this. Even though they don't have a snowballs' chance in hell,…they stick their necks out and take the plunge and it would be right, I think, to at least honor their effort by including their names….besides, it makes it easier for us to make fun of them…

      1. RCP polls also show not much difference in HRC's lead whether it's a head to head, three way with Johnson or four way including Stein. She and Trump both lose similar amounts and the lead stays pretty much the same, though the numbers change. Today , for instance , HRC’s average lead with all four is +6.3 and with just Trump…. +6.8. Many days it’s not even that far apart. I check every day.

I don't know where you'd fit either of them into the big line which doesn't show percentage of vote but chance of winning. Neither of them have any chance. You want ColPols to run them with zeros?

        1. Sure, run them as zeros. At least, they're acknowledged. Ignoring the outliers worked so well for the major parties this election, didn't it?

I'm not voting Green this election, but I'd like to see minor parties built up to be real choices to the Big Two.

          1. If Trump and Bernie are the outliers you have in mind, neither ran as third party and there's no comparison  between their polling numbers and Johnson or Stein's but…. whatever.

    1. Stick their neck out? Most third party candidates in Colorado don't do squat; it would be a disservice to the many candidates who work 40+ hours a week to list third party candidates just because somebody filled out some paperwork.

          1. For example, Arn Menconi is the Green Party "candidate" for U.S. Senate in Colorado. He has yet to file a campaign finance report because he hasn't even met the $5,000 minimum threshold. He's not a candidate — he's a Facebook page and a Twitter account.
