    1. There are too many flat out political reasons to not appoint him.

He may be a brilliant SOS, but it’s not a good political risk.  Reminds me of a joke Gordon once made, “There are a lot of politics in my job, too.”

    2. He sent out an email to his entire, and substatial, email list asking for people to vote for him.

Somehow, I doubt the results of this poll will have much affect on the Governor’s decision.

But I do thank ProgressNow for usuing a decent picture of me 🙂 Especially since they are so rare.

  1. I was told today the short list has been given to the Governor and even who was on it. The source was someone who I reasonably trust and that would have no reason tell me this if it were not true, but also, was not anyone connected to the process.

Given the “unnamed sources” nature of the information I think it would be inappropriate for me to say who is on the short list, so I will leave that for the Governor’s office to announce. Let’s just say that it should shock no one that I am not on it.

I only have 3 words for those who are on that list: “Director of Elections” 🙂

    1. I believe you would make a great SOS, Dan.

I heard the names went to the Gov but didn’t hear which were named.

      Let me guess:

      Romanoff

      Buescher

      Rodriguez

But a question on timing.  Can Ritter wait until the Obama transition team chooses Sec of AG since the J. Salazar is on the short list?

      1. There is still not officially a vacancy to fill as Coffman has not resigned yet.

I am hoping Obama make the SoAg announcement soon so we (the parties) will know if thre is a special election in CD3 brewing.
