          1. But that’s a healthy early lead and past comments have already shown lots of support for the Red (hair). Don’t think this is headed to a recount or run-off. Maybe redstateblues could be vice guest editor.

    1. as the Bill Richardson of this contest (RedGreen, some of you might recall, stands for the New Mexico state slogan — “Red or green?”), I’m going to weigh in at this late date with an endorsement of RSB as well, and for reasons similar to Haners’.

I too voted for DTR(H) for Poster of the Year, and his diaries are always top-notch and regularly earn promotion; Middle is an up-and-comer; and it’s true, I did nominate Thilly because he deserves recognition and somehow kept getting left out of Polster of the Whatever slates. But RSB has the energy, the drive and the eye for front page editor this time. He has my support, and I fully expect to head the Commerce Department upon his election.

  1. Poor ThillyWabbit and Middle of the Road, only themselves and maybe a relative have voted for them. Its worse than insert bad bad Republican here.

Oh well, I guess they will just have to campaign harder next time, and ummmm greenbacks in my pocket always help to sway my vote.

      1. Anybody who appreciates Maltese deserves only the best things in life, things like, oh, I don’t know, Colorado Pols Front Page Editor of the Quarter!

Actually I would have voted for Danny, but I still hold out hope that he’ll agree to be my financial advisor and I didn’t want him overloaded.

          1. then a runoff. Since the voting in the Democratic primary has far out-paced the Republican contest, Pols should review the IPs and toss out multiple votes cast from the same ones — unless there’s convincing proof family members share a computer. It’s only a 4-vote difference, so it’s incumbent upon Al Franken — er, RedStateBlues — to challenge every vote.

  2. Considering the circumstances that currently envelope the country, Colorado, and indeed the world, I can think of no better voice for the Democratic Party on Colorado Pols than Dan.

Whether providing excellent commentary on political intrigue, or waxing poetic on the economic crisis, Dan has been one of the best (if not the best) contributor to this site.

Thank you to everyone who voted for me. We’ve came a long way in a short period of time, there can be no doubt about that. We have seen the mountain top, and I know that we can get to that summit soon. Our time is coming, my friends, rest assured.

Good luck Dan. My supporters and I stand with you as we gaze upon the precipice of a new age.

But in all seriousness, you deserve this. You’ve been great, and everyone here appreciates it. Thanks for what you do, and I firmly believe that we couldn’t ask for a better guest editor.

Good night. And may God continue to bless the state of Colorado and the United States of America.

    1. Nice concession. Does M.M. in ne colorado read Pols?

I completely forgot about the Pols vote today darn it.

Maybe we should have rec’d a GOTV email from Pols today.

      1. I got a half dozen get-out-the-vote emails today, but I suspect they were from the McCain people — they all told me to cast my ballot for my preferred candidate on Wednesday at Face the State. Goddamned voter suppression!

      1. …Danny, etc.  I promise to serve in lock-step, while casting aspersions on capitalists and finding wonder in every page of Tolstoy (Anna under the train…..brilliant!)

  3. here’s to my colleagues(I would never call my fellow nominees my competitors)

And here’s to an off year with fewer trolls and shills.

    1. I heard that Danny got some votes from swift boat supporters! I kinda like Danny but I am scared he pals around with Independence Institute and swift boat types. I even heard that his second or third cousin is a DINO from Alaska, and apparently at family reunions Danny even has Republican relatives! I worry that this might influence his worldview.

j/k Congrats Danny, you’ll do a great job!

      Go ‘Red!

      Jared

  4. While I missed the campaign for this prestigious post, I’m sure Danny will be bringing the economy to the front burner for us all. Good on you all for making two great picks. Danny and LB will be great contributors.

  5. I’m looking forward to reading more of you.

And congratulations to redstateblue who made this a very close race. You both add so much to this site. We’re lucky to have you here.
