“Why is propaganda so much more successful when it stirs up hatred than when it tries to stir up friendly feeling?”

  1. Constitutional carry at the RNC

I wish I was making it up. I don't want people to die just because they choose to play an active role in pretending to choose their presidential nominee.

States are just now starting to choose their delegates. Friend of friend* likely to be a TX delegate has drafted the proposal to the Rules Committee (which already has a full plate).

Like many ideologues he is somewhat blind to the political reality of affecting change bottom-up. But he's started networking other states' likely delegates and he says reaction is positive.

*I have so few in the first tier, the second tier has to be loosely defined.

  2. Could the MSNBC commentator, Jacob Soboroff, be any more fawning and sycophantic while he "interviews" Sheriff Joe Arpaio and tours the tent city jail? Does he really think that the inmates will give him any honest answers, with Arpaio standing by? Disgusting excuse for journalism.

At least Jane Sanders was honest in her interactions with Arpaio, asking him tough questions about his citizen militias that harass Latinos, about conditions at the jail, ,about racial profiling. "He declined to answer", she said.

Amnesty International and other human rights organizations have decried the human rights abuses at the jail, while having no or negative impact on crime in the area.

For his part, Arpaio tweeted, "Heard Jane Sanders was visiting my Tents jail, I adjusted my gun and armed Posse presser @4pm so I could give her a personal tour. Arpaio is a Trump supporter – of course.

    1. Arpaio absolutely needs and depends on illegal immigrants to scapegoat, as justification for the utterly miserable job of policing and law enforcement that he and his department are responsible for.

Sheriff Joe figured out long ago that he wouldn't make dog catcher, anywhere, on his own record.  Give him some brown skins to blame, however, and not only is he a celebrity, but he gets to bury his jowls in the big-money federal government handouts trough for his scams (Eg. See also, kidnapping capital of America, etc.).  He's among the worst of humanity.

  3. Honest to God…I use to have a great deal of respect for him.  He's been reduced to an obstructionist and a politician whose ideology prevents him from understanding simple, mathematical and political equations (like the fact that public policy he rejects has already caused the investment of billions of dollars in his own senate district). That, and his blind hate for the black squatter in the White House.

Uncertainty plagues Senate bill to halt Clean Power Plan progress

The bill’s Republican sponsors, Sens. John Cooke and Jerry Sonnenberg, stand by the legislation’s claim that such authority doesn’t exist. But when pressed, they struggled to cite a legal precedent.

Sonnenberg spoke with authority about several aspects of the bill, but said, “I’m in over my head,” regarding the legal details.

    1. Don't you just love our legislators these days, MB? Nothing but names available as rented attachments to bills that lobbyists have written and want introduced …

  4. "I celebrate the idea that liberals should fear Jon Keyser, so make sure you vote for Jon Keyser to represent all of Colorado in the U.S. Senate." -Communications Director for Jon Keyser

Liberal panic on Twitter about @Jon_Keyser says all you need to know about who they fear the most #copolitics

Do conservatives like Connelly ever venture outside of their Neo-Con circles to see how their message is received by others? Do they care?
