Buck to be removed as president of the freshmen House Republican

According to The Hill, Congressman Ken Buck’s vote against the trade bill will cost him his position as president of the freshman Republicans in the House.

Speaker Boehner is letting it be known that he is sick and tired of the extreme right-wing Republicans blocking everything and everything the President requests.  I realize many subscribers to Coloradopols are against the trade bill but this may be a sign that Mr. Boehner, who in the past was always a deal maker, wants the House to actually function again.

Buck might be an embarrassment for other reasons, too. He backs climate-science denier Jim "Snowball in Hell" Imhofe. His tweets are anything from seeing the President makes him lose his appetite for pizza to OMG! the ISIS are camping on the Mexico border!

But I guess I'm glad that he voted against the trade bill, whatever his motivations. He's had a couple of other decent votes – for the Hemp Industrialization Act and against extending NSA spying, but mostly he just votes "No" for stuff the President wants.

And…..AC will be coming to Bucko's defense in 3….2….1….

  2. I'm sure this is all designed to improve Speaker Boehner's standing within his caucus. I mean, no one who's being punished would ever think about going against the Speaker in, say, a leadership vote now that they've been stripped of their positions…

Buck is skipping a conference with one of the "Death to Gays" Ugandan Bishops…so I guess I have to give him props for that…or maybe he's just looking at what the headlines might say if he did show up on that stage with the Death to Gays guy.

Either way, good choice for once.

Buck votes against a bill that he, and most of his constituents (even most Polsters for different reasons) disagree with.

He is asked to resign the position as  class president to which the freshman House Republicans unanimously elected him. He has a spine and refuses.

So the partisan suck ups call for a vote to oust him.

It will be interesting to see if the freshman class has lost touch with their constituents in less than 6 months and are already bought off, like most of their brethren on both sides of the aisle.

Does this mean that Brophy will have to surrender his head cheerleader pom-poms???
