How Do You Spell Relief? R-I-T-T-E-R

More on Democrat Bill Ritter’s reaction to the Hickenlooper announcement from the Rocky Mountain News:

A phone call about 9:30 a.m. turned Monday into the most important day of Bill Ritter’s political life. On the other end of the line was John Hickenlooper – Denver’s wildly popular mayor and the 800-pound gorilla-to-be in the race for the Democrats’ gubernatorial nomination.

And the news – that Hickenlooper was content at City Hall – cleared the biggest obstacle between Ritter and a place on the ballot in November. Four hours later, an admittedly relieved Ritter stepped before a lectern in his spartan campaign headquarters, faced a bank of microphones, and said nothing had changed.

“We’re in this race to stay,” Ritter said, flanked by running mate Barbara O’Brien. “We’re in this race to win.”

  1. Barbara O’Brien is an amazing pick, who are you kidding?
Anything on the Salazar brothers endorsing Ritter and O’Brien today? I heard this was scheduled prior to Hick’s announcement – let’s face it: the Salazars know a winner when they see one.

  2. I agree, O’Brien was an excellent pick! It’s time for the Dems to rally behind the Ritter ticket to defeat the Both Ways Bob machine funded by the Delay Fund for an Ethical Democracy.

  3. All I can say is good luck. The Dems are going to need it now that their wonder boy is out. They are stuck with 2nd choice.
I’m fairly sure there will be a Republican in office still when this is all over.
What is Ritter’s motto going to be? Vote for me I’m the next best thing?
