I am working as an election judge this week at the Montclair Rec. Center. I have been there or the past week accepting absentee ballots.
Thee are a handful of factors that are causing us to expect the Montclair site to be VERY busy on Sat. Oct 28th (today). This could mean some longish lines on this one day.
To avoid waiting in lines, voters may want to consider one of the other locations instead. Or waiting to vote one day during the week. (hours are 10am – 8 pm)
In addition to having been told by a couple hundred voters in the past week they are planning on coming to vote today at Montclair, there is also a volleyball tournament going on at the rec. center which will likely have at least several dozen more potential voters, and dozens of fewer parking spaces.
I have requested (and gotten!) additional voting machines at the Montclair location to accommodate the crowd better.
