Afternoon.
Are you better off today than you were three years ago?
The country-at-large certainly is. The question for next year is, do enough voters agree?
Three years ago the massive MAGA lie machine was revving up, convincing growing numbers of people that Trump had won re-election and crafting illegal interference designed to throw doubt into the electoral vote counting process. We had no idea what 1/6/21 would bring, but our concerns were increasing that Trump would declare marshal law or do some other drastic thing to retain power. We were still wearing masks when in crowded areas, we saw Trump recover from COVID perhaps only due to the best medical care in the world, and we tried to be hopeful that Biden would bring sanity to the federal government.
Am I better off today? You bet I am! But I'm angry that we still have to put up with the MAGAts who have now completely taken over one of our two major political parties.
