  1. What's the new Denver Mayor's administration doing?

Denverite: We went to see how a Johnston homeless sweep differs from a Hancock homeless sweep

This was the first forced encampment clean-up under new Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, who pledged during his campaign not to sweep residents without an offer of housing.

Housing was not offered. Instead, those who wanted it were referred to the Department of Housing Stability website…..

[One homeless person named] Sjoberg liked what he heard. And he said he’s already noticed changes from Johnston’s administration, particularly the city’s new trash service for encampments.

“It’s been fantastic. It’s been absolutely wonderful,” he told the mayor. “I think it’s absolutely wonderful you’re coming out here and talking to folks.”

  2. Well, at least attorney (for now) John Eastman is willing to clarify his principles.Talking Points Memo tells the tale:

John Eastman Comes Clean: Hell Yes We Were Trying to Overthrow the Government

Eastman Reiterates Support For Full Insurrection

That second article ends with his conclusion after reciting various offenses of the government imposing on him.  “If those are the stakes, what are you supposed to do?” he asked. “Sit around and twiddle your thumbs?”

Here's hoping he has plenty of time to twiddle his thumbs while thinking that he once was an attorney and once was able to travel freely.

    1. Wow, what an arrogant prick.  What abuses did he suffer in his years in academia?  Bad chardonnay at a faculty reception?  Having to teach freshman?

    1. Well, I’m not sure the GOP “rejected” the idea. The motion failed, but a majority (of real votes) supported it.  From the Colorado Sun article cited above:

“The vote by the state party’s central committee on the bylaws amendment was 186.83 to 149.16 — well below the required two-thirds threshold of support, or roughly 221.76 votes, needed to pass.” 55.6% of those voting were fine with the idea of counting non-votes as “YES”

I’m always enthusiastic to read another anecdote showing Republicans ‘R’ Revolting.

The roll-call tally was preceded by an hour and a half of fierce debate that often devolved into yelling and sometimes pitted sitting Republican state lawmakers against each other.

  3. From Wapo and SFgate: Naked Man at Denver Barbie showing.

I find no other mention of it. No X post, no facebook, no other discussion of it. Im not saying that it didnt happen. I can only question how two reporters on opposite coast found that police report? had a friend "Tess Connolly" who was there? Heck of a pair of muckrackers to find that story when no local outlet had it…
