We’re two weeks away from the June 6 runoff election in Denver that will determine the first new Mayor of the largest city in Colorado in 12 years.

I was going to vote for Kelly until she said: "taxpayer $ for a new Donkey stadium".
And, I am one of those people who open their mail and votes immediately so all this mudslinging is meaningless to me.
Didn't your wife tell you to vote for the woman?

Got what exactly? My view is that this is a choice between a root canal and an extraction.

Ah. I think Johnston wins, but based on no good data or understanding. But I will sure be glad when the election is over.
Compared to most elections, this one feels pretty low drama to me. The endorsement of the Denver GOP didn’t do Kelly any favors so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Mike’s the winner.

Once they are in office, how often has an incumbent mayor been defeated for re-election in Denver? Don't you have to go back to that dude whom Federico Peña took out in 1979 to find an incumbent who lost?
Yes, He'd been there since 1968. And it was ' 83 when he was defeated by Pena and the Christmas Blizzard of '82.
Definitely not excited by prospects from what I've heard during two "in-person" appearances and portions of several recordings of "debates" or "forums" or whatever else they have been called. Even less impressed after looking at where the two (and their "supporting" organizations) got the money being spent.
Won't be terribly disappointed by either one getting elected, either. I tend to see both as a step up from the current mayor.
Ain't that the truth? I'm pulling for Johnston, but only because I think Brough is too beholden to the Chamber of Commerce types to do what's best for mere residents.
No fan of Johnston but his experience running for office shows and I think his messaging on the unhoused, while wildly optimistic, speaks for the voters for action on the subject. Brough has a “plan” but does anyone know what it is?

My gut is saying Johnston will win, if for no other reason, the amount of campaigning I have seen from him. We get almost daily mailers from him, yet nothing from Brough. If she is spending all her money on TV/radio, then I am the type of voter she will never reach. I don’t watch TV anymore (we pulled the plug on cable) and only listen to the radio in the car (but don’t go much of anywhere anymore).
Also he come across as having a plan (right or wrong), whereas I have only heard (2nd hand) rhetoric from Brough.
