“I know Obama didn’t want to repeal the Bush tax cuts ’cause he needed the economy to keep growing, but this is my point. They know that tax cuts grow an economy. They know it. But they don’t want it. Too much money in your pocket means less need by you of them. Means too much economic freedom for you.”

If the Republicans take the Senate, the White House and the HOuse, these are only some of the laws that could be repealed:
1) Obama Care….The Affordable Health Care Act
2) The Medical Family Leave Act.
3) The Civil Rights ACt of 1964…that included women, almost as a joke….but that is from where women can claim equal protection of the law….
4) The Voting Rights Act of 1965
5) The Wagner Act
6) The Laura Ledbetter (sp?) pay equity law
The Right to Abortion and the Right to Contraception and the Right to be free of prayer in schools were established by Supreme Court Decisions and so would not be immediately overturned. But given the already established rightist majority on the court, those rights could be abolished.
It would be a different world.
But how could I forget:
1) Medicare
2) Medicaid
Arizona Bible Course Bill To Teach Elective In Public Schools Passes Senate, Goes To Gov. Jan Brewer
what about Qu’ran, Bhagavad Geeta, Torah …? None of them have a place in public K-12 education. GA, OK, TN, TX and South Carolina allow districts to offer a high school elective Bible course and now AZ joins their Bible-pushing brethren. I’m hating on today’s GOP.
So…abolish ‘ethnic” study classes because they are too decisive but encourage religion classes exclusive only to Christianity.
Face. Palm.
how do you post pictures?
This just shows that Democrat operatives have a tough time playing under pressure. Making unforced errors when your behind is a typical.
Christ this is just horrible for you guys. You’ve had to make the candidate and his wife come out to defend some radical operative and her open mouth.
You guys need to get Rosen back to her real role ….. sourcing elite leftist cash for the Obama Super PACs. Unfortunately that is now even a dirty problem, who wants to give money to an Obama Super PAC when they’re rep hates housewives.
It’s a sign of strength and one I wish more Republican candidates (and their campaigns) had demonstrated over the last 8 months.
The extremist hit jobs your team did or is doing on Palin, Haley, Spence, Looper, Stephens, Martinez, Szabo, [insert female or racial minority GOP candidate name here]
Ps see below factual response to shrub-hugger. I usually enjoy your posts as they come from an elder on the west slope … however your responses to me alway make me think that down deep you might really just be a twit.
I know, I know, this offender gets special treatment. but though love is special too.
But IIRC Ellie isn’t here any more due to account issues.
So for ‘tad to hint/claim/slip/name a poster that is still here is an outing.
I’ve never been called a “twit”.
And by the way, I don’t have a team unless it’s an army of women who believe we have the right to make our own choices including staying at home with our children (when it’s economically feasible), working outside the home or choosing not to have children. I didn’t agree with Rosen and voiced my respect for Obama for his stand up response. If that makes me a ‘twit’ – well, I can’t wait to tell my family.
But I am.
I find it humorous that so many on ‘your team’ seem to think that any mention by a Democrat of someone who happens to be a person other than a white male, is ‘racist’ or ‘sexist;’ and yet have no understanding how the truly racist and sexist things their team spouts are such.
for attempted outing.
I don’t mind the crap he posts, but he needs to respect the anonymity that makes this place work.
Since you’re a radical operative with an open mouth, I’m sure you and the GOP will be apologizing for the YEARS of attacks on the First Lady.
Who, by the way, has done more for military spouse (most of which are women) in one day than you’ve done in your entire pathetic empty life.
libertad may not know anything about the positive effect the current Administration has had on Veterans’ benefits, the New GI Bill, dependent benefits, hospital care, returning Veterans’ transitions programs, and VA accessibility through legislation and implementation because………
Like the rombot and his 5 heirs, he never served in the U.S. Military because “They answered to a higher calling”.
Why would libertad know anything about something that’s never concerned him?
That’s right…….libertad subscribes to the conservative endless war fought by other peoples’ kid theory.
Oh, almost forgot, where’s that business about Hilary Rosen “sourcing cash for the Obama superpacs” sourced?
Sources, please.
Sounds like more of libertad ringing doorbells, skipping away, complete with the schoolgirl giggle, to me.
unlike the rest of the GOP who, when it comes to the myriad of offensive things said about the FLOTUS or women in general by Limbaugh (who has infinite more clout with the GOP than Rosen does with the Dems)or Coulter, or by other low level creeps in the party, they just hem and haw and shuffle their feet and then point back at ‘libruls’ while shrieking “But!But! But! you said it too once!” like a bunch of guilty kindergartners.
and what was it that Obama said about his bowling …. it was like bowling in the Special Olympics.
Nice try shrub … a vast majority of Americans are coming to the obvious conclusion that your team not only ain’t getting the job done, but are of the level of character that is failing to lead our nation on the right path or in the right direction.
Just how frustrating is it that Brother Romney may become President? Knowing those in VA, NC, SC, OH, FL feel a common bond with him must really be frustrating to you too.
Palin wasn’t ready or prepared to be competitive in national politics.
Asking her what newspapers she’s heard of isn’t an “orchestrated 2 year multi media assault on her”.
And her still believing, in the summer of ’08, that Iraq hit us on 9/11 (like you still do) isn’t the “multi media’s fault”.
Well, except for Fox.
No, the press simply exposed her as a small time politician, totally ignorant of the world around her, but very gifted in extemporaneous, broad brush, but never specific on substance, attack the other guy stumping.
That lasted from Minneapolis through the disasterous GOP loss in November.
Since then, the only focus on her has been the shit she’s brought on herself.
She should feel lucky that the Congerssional District maps “Sarahpac” put out with the hunting cross hairs on them didn’t cause serious trouble for her after Representative Giffords was shot as a direct result.
When you paint Sarah Palin as mainstream and legitimate, when you say “a vast majority of Americans are coming to the conclusion………on and on……”, you expose yourself as not only an extremist and a habitual liar, but an idiot as well.
But with you, that’s par.
I believe your behavior on this thread yesterday, in light of the fact you’ve transgressed decency on multiple occasions before, aught to result in your ass getting banned.
You never attempt to add anything.
All you do is poke the bear.
Sooner or later, Pols will
come to the same conclusion.
And you’ll have done it to yourself.
approval rating in 2000 At that tiime the lowest favorability rating in the primary era). But Romney at 42% is an all time low going into the general.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/…
It shows you’re grasping at straws when you’re looking at things like favorability, approval ratings and the opinions of voters. What do you think this is, an election?!
http://www.foxnews.com/politic…
several polls with Obama leading:
http://www.realclearpolitics.c…
C’mon Dave, do you really trust Faux News?
as much as I trust Rasmussen polls.
I find all the polls to be flawed.
For example, “Do you approve or disapprove of the job Barack Obama is doing as president?”
Well, given the Gitmo is still open, I would answer DISapprove.
But, I would never vote for Mittens as he is today–a right-wing nut job.
How can you trust the answers when the choice is binary?
For example: https://antipolygraph.org/cgi-…
Some disapproval comes from the left who are disappointed in Gitmo, Afghanistan, no public option in health care reform, too much pandering to Wall Street, etc. That doesn’t mean they won’t vote for him and certainly doesn’t mean they will vote for Mittens. Just like those who disapprove of Mittens because he isn’t a real conservative or maybe think he isn’t a real Christian and that matters to them, won’t vote for Obama. Naked approve/disapprove stats just take you so far.
I think both sides are pretty enthusiastic about not letting the other side win, even most of those who aren’t crazy about the candidates. Diehards on both sides might stay home or go third party.
So the one stat that counts the most? Women. If it stays in favor of Obama by 18 or even a few points less, Mittens will lose. If he can get more women than McCain got, he’ll probably win.
Dems have a lot to work with there. GOP needs to find some way to appease indie women. They can’t get traction on the economy with women voters while pandering to their fringe in ways that hurt women economically, as the wars on access to affordable birth control, hormonal treatment, cancer screenings, routine healthcare, medicare and medicaid, college access for the middle class, all do. Especially since they can’t offer a scrap of evidence that their decade long experiment with feeding the rich so they’ll feed us better jobs, while starving everyone else, has done anything but fail. That puts a huge dent in their entire economic argument for more of the same to create jobs.
As for the unfortunate Rosen comment, HRC was a lot closer to that year’s Dem candidate when she got in the same hot water for her snide remark about choosing not to stay home and bake cookies but it didn’t have much of an effect in the long run.
(via Daily Kos)
Add this to his extra efforts during last year’s blizzard, and his work (with his security detail) in catching a robber, and it’s easy to see why Stephen Colbert asked him “are you Batman?”
Romney has a serious problem, I think. And it comes from Joe Biden.
At a speech yesterday, Biden gave a new name to the Republican alternative to the Bennett Rule: the Romney Rule.
The Romney Rule simply says that not only should rich people pay lower tax rates than working people, but that those rates are still too high and they should get even larger tax breaks. That’s what Mitt Romney supports when supporting the Ryan budget – and Romney benefits directly.
I’d love to see Democrats everywhere push this accurately descriptive term; I think it has WIN written all over it.
What’s the Bennett Rule?
(wow, did I write that this morning?)
I have a cousin like that – and everyone acknowledges freely that that guy has never worked a day in his life.
If stay-at-mom was a job, it would earn Social Security credit. It doesn’t.
It’s work – it’s not a job – It’s the greatest work in the world. And women or men who whine about how hard it is should join the Navy or work at a call center or work at the local day care.
A spouse is entitled to a benefit of one-half of his or her spouse’s, or whatever he or she has earned in his or her own right, whichever is larger. My wife gets a benefit based on half of mine, which is much larger than she earned in her own stints in the paid workforce. Upon my death, her benefit doubles to equal mine, if she survives me.
The spousal benefit in no way reduces what the worker receives. Thus, Social Security is the only major pension program to honor stay at home spouses, moms or otherwise. This is often forgotten in the specious comparisons between what your OASDI benefits are worth vs. what you could earn if the same taxes had been invested in a private pension plan.
IS entitled to Social Security. And actually, you said stay-at-mom, but I assume you meant stay-at-home.
Are not eligible for SS and do not earn SS credits for all the work they do.
OTOH- yes, you are right that spouses can earn SS eligibility through their eligible spouse.
The point is that lots of “work” is not a job.
This looks like hard, hard work: (even for the rider)
It’s a hobby.
Being a wife and mom is hard work. It’s not a job.

It took 3 hours and 15 minutes of porn versus liberal leftist KRDO (ABC) morning news before they could straighten out this technical boner because
1) everyone was watching Fox News (KRDO ad rates should be lower),
2) them folks in the Springs love them some free porn,
3) KRDO viewers didn’t notice the difference between a George Stepanopolus interview and a bisexual three way, or
4) the cable company has a beef with local affiliate and wanted to “stick it to them” so to speak.
Colorado Folks love them some free everything. Hell, they’re too cheap to even pay for streetlights…
The more conservative and religious a state is, the higher the per-capita purchases of porn.
It’s a violation of market principles! That’s what has got Lib so upset! Right-wing porn-hounds bypassing economic law!
http://www.latimes.com/news/po…
Odd, he files out of DC, but votes in IL …. whys he trying to dodge paying IL taxes … is it like John Kerry and is yacht registration outside of MA? What’s IL state tax and voting law say about all this activity?
and ye shall receive.
If you recall – the last President claimed as his home address for tax purposes a hotel in Houston.
And the VP- a Texas resident for years, claimed a hotel in Wyoming because the Constitution prohibts Pres/VP from the same state.
