Yeah, It’s That Bad

Sam Stein of POLITICO and MSNBC breaks down some disturbing new poll numbers via Morning Consult/POLITICO:

We can’t say we’re overly surprised by some of these numbers, though we’re certainly disheartened. After all, it was just last month that Republican State Rep. Matt Soper acknowledged that he didn’t mind open racism from Congressperson Lauren “Q*Bert” Boebert so long as she was owning the libs.

Who could have foreseen that something like this would result from openly inviting the "It isn't really 'anti-Semitism' if the Jews are in fact evil" crowd into your political party?

  2. Current news and recent history suggest that Republicans and those supporting them are considerably over-reporting their level of concern.

  3. Lauren Boebert is a Worthless POS says:

The numbers on who sees sexual misconduct as a major problem are curious because I'm watching the Clinton Impeachment miniseries on Hulu starring Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp and Beanie Feldstein as Monica. (Excellent performances by both!)

As I recall from living through it and watching the series, the GOP was losing their shit over the whole thing while the Dems in Congress – with exception of Joe Lieberman – were shrugging it off as just a "lie about sex."

    Today the roles are reversed.

  4. Dionaea says:

In this era of hyperpartisanship I suspect they would have gotten very different answers (if respondents were honest) if they asked:

If a Democratic candidate is accused of ___ is it a major problem?

If a Republican candidate is accused of ___ is it a major problem?

    The standards are VERY different.

  5. Thorntonite says:

I'd like to see the results if the wording was reversed.

"If a candidate is accused of____is that a good thing?

I honestly think that with the last three it would improve the standing of Republican candidates in their primaries.

If you're still a registered republican or vote republican for any office local, state or federal then you're okay with all of the racist bile, religious bigotry and pedophilia coming from your party leadership. This is your party, so you own all this crap. I've never felt one shred of guilt when I call republicans disgusting evil human beings and after reading polls like this it validates my opinion.

      “if you’re still a registered republican…….then you’re okay…..”

I’m still a registered Republican and I don’t answer to you. You can feel free to review some of my other posts on this website.

ADDENDUM: according to a current article/poll from Morning Consult, the three most popular governors in the country are Republicans: Charlie Baker (R-MA), Phil Scott (R-VT), and Larry Hogan (R-MD).
