Polsters Think Romney Has It, Cain Does Not

  • by: Colorado Pols

We’ve been asking you every couple of months for nearly a year now to give us your opinion on who you think will end up as the Republican nominee for President. We last polled on Tuesday, giving us five different snapshots of how Colorado Pols readers view the GOP field.

With that data in-hand, we created some handy charts to show the rising and falling fortunes of several Republican contenders as viewed by the Colorado Pols community. It’s interesting to note that while Mitt Romney has always been the perceived favorite, Polsters have never bought into Herman Cain. Take a look:

  1. It is nice to see that despite your trash talk, the Pols community is not distracted by the flavor of the month. I think these results are not too far from national polls, except your readers have the good sense to drop to zero for candidates with zero chance.

What was Bachmann doing in August that made so many of you choose her, though? That’s one that seems out of place.

        1. And that God told her to run.

She speaks from the heart (if not the brain):

“But we also know that the very founders that wrote those documents worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States.”

”If we took away the minimum wage – if conceivably it was gone – we could potentially virtually wipe out unemployment completely because we would be able to offer jobs at whatever level.”

”Normalization (of gayness) through desensitization. Very effective way to do this with a bunch of second graders, is take a picture of ‘The Lion King’ for instance, and a teacher might say, ‘Do you know that the music for this movie was written by a gay man?’ The message is: I’m better at what I do, because I’m gay.”

”I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out under another, then under another Democrat president, Jimmy Carter. I’m not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it’s an interesting coincidence.”

          So here’s hoping Michele!

          1. proof again he/she has a helluva sense of humor.

I’d love to see one of these deluded candidates that has recv’d such a divine directive vehemntly denounce their deity after losing their ass in the primaries.  That’s too much to ask though isn’t it.

    1. Um, she won the Iowa straw poll.

Your claims to immense prescience would be more persuasive if you didn’t ask ill-informed questions like why people may have ratcheted upward the (longshot) odds of a Bachmann victory the month she won the nation’s biggest straw poll, the one conducted in the early state most simpatico to her.
