Forbes’ Zach Everson reports on the latest paperwork predicament Colorado’s preeminent hot mess freshman GOP Rep. Lauren Boebert finds herself in, this while attempting to correct her most recent erroneous campaign finance report:
The campaign of Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) submitted a report with the Federal Election Commission on Thursday night that lists her as a candidate for Congress in Utah…
Boebert’s home state was listed as Colorado in her campaign’s original report for the third quarter of 2021, which was filed on Oct. 15. The campaign amended that filing last night and, among other revisions, changed Boebert’s state and district on the first page from Colorado 03 to Utah 03.
“I’ve never seen a candidate misidentify the state they are seeking to represent on an FEC report,” said Brett Kappel, an attorney specializing in campaign finance at Harmon, Curran, Spielberg & Eisenberg.
It’s just the latest example of Boebert’s infamously sloppy bookkeeping, which has ranged from relatively benign mistakes like the one above to thousands of dollars “mistakenly” billed to the campaign account for personal expenses. Boebert’s “mistaken” misidentification of the oil and gas company that has paid her husband hundreds of thousands of dollars in compensation in her two-years belated disclosure of the money sent reporters on a brief wild goose chase. Most recently, Boebert’s personal rent “mistakenly” paid in campaign funds listed the wrong address of the recipient leading to another round of confusion. Over time, these little frustrating errors aggregate into something you might even call a diversion.
So, there’s all of that! But getting back to the mistake at hand, let us add our encouragement to Rep. Lauren Boebert taking her act across the border to the Beehive State. We’re only about 50% kidding. As long as she hasn’t trash-talked the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at some point into a hot mic, we could honestly see her schtick playing well there.

Does Rep. John Curtis know he has a new challenger?
Why am I getting the sense that Boebert is signing whatever is put in front of her without thinking about it? And without having a couple of members of her staff check the work, either.
Because she cannot read it.
I think you are prolly right, dave. Just cause she got a GED, doesn't mean she learned how to read. I don't think my congresswoman hires particularly bright staff, either. She doesn't want people around her that are smarter than she.
Is there any reason to believe that Sloebert has competent staffers, as opposed to a gaggle of dumbshit Cletuses as stupid or stupider than Sloebert herself?
See above…
Yes, there is . . .
. . . "stupider than [her]" seems an unlikely possibility?
Unlikely to impossible most places, but we're talking about Colorado's 3rd Congressional District here, a/k/a Cletus Heaven.
Holy crap Boebert's staff is more stupid than she is.
To the Colorado citizens of CO-3 that voted for this seditious twat, WTF were you thinking?
Sorry – Clarice Navarro, her district director, has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer. And she inherited some of Gardner's castoffs. Her other staff was picked more for their Trumpist loyalty than any special legislative / PR skills.
Like attracts like. The company she keeps personally and professionally aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer either.
