Poll: How Long Will You Keep Your Mask On?

  • by: Colorado Pols

AP reports via CBS4 as the light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel gets brighter:

Colorado’s health department is moving to relax its statewide mask mandate and limits on gathering capacity, saying the state’s role in determining COVID-19 restrictions will lessen in favor of more local control as vaccination eligibility opens more widely.

The proposal announced Friday would allow local authorities and “private entities” in the counties with the lowest coronavirus infection rates to determine whether or not masks would be required. It would also end most restrictions on capacity for restaurants, personal services providers, retailers, manufacturers, health care providers or outdoor events.

If everything goes well, the individual mask mandate in Colorado would end on Easter Sunday, April 4–although private businesses can continue to enforce their own requirements like private businesses always could. As for when individuals should consider it safe and prudent to stop wearing masks in public? That depends–and we’re curious what your own plans are. How long will you keep wearing a mask voluntarily after Gov. Jared Polis relents from forcing you to wear one under penalty of death?*

How long will you continue to wear a face mask?

  1. Hmmmm, . . .

    . . . a politically arbitrary timetable solution to a medical problem?

    What could possibly go wrong???

But, Easter Superspreader Services are just around the hallelujah corner! Praise the lord and pass the hydroxychloroquine!

  2. Mask wearing will be situational for months as far as I'm concerned. Mask at a concert? Yes. Mask in the grocery? Yes. Mask at vaccinated friend's place or vaccinated friends at my place? No.

  3. Yeah I think after I get my jabs, it will be situational. When flu season gets going, I think I will probably mask up again, but my hope is that by this summer, we will be able to walk around town without them.

  4. Wife and I drove to Canon City to get #1 yesterday, could have waited a week and a half for the mass site at Dicks but have my first flight in a year this week and have been encouraged by England's strategy.

We got down there without a glitch and had a half hour so we went to the King Soopers for a Starbucks.  They had masks available as you walked in. We followed a couple in that were mask less and we got to witness the wife pleading with Jethro to just put the god damned thing on. He refused. We got a coffee. Gave a good topic for the ride home.

We basically decided, we'll stop wearing when those around us are comfortable with us not wearing.  That's what being part of a community means to us.
