  1. How long do you think it's going to take the Trumpers to treat their family, friends and neighbors who are Biden supporters with any respectful civility?  An experience this week-end leads me to believe it will be a long time, if ever.

    1. My guess, the time it will take to reach respectful civility will be proportional to the level at which acceptance of the rhetoric and identification with the movement is internalized.

  2. When you got nothin’…

“If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell”

Trump lawyers blast impeachment trial as ‘political theater’

In a brief filed on the eve of the Senate impeachment trial, lawyers for the former president attacked the case on multiple grounds, foreshadowing legal and constitutional arguments they intend to present when the trial opens in earnest on Tuesday.

    1. Looking forward to reading the Trump team submission, the criticisms of it, and the Democratic House managers' response tomorrow.

Also, hoping there will be some clarity about the rules for the proceedings — especially about time limits for the opening statements and if and how witnesses will testify.

  3. From an email from the Gessler for State GOP Chair effort this morning:

In a time when election integrity is the most important issue for Republican activists in Colorado…

As a former Republican, I don't believe that is not remotely the most important issue facing the state party, and I have to question how Gessler or anyone else can rebuild the GOP in Colorado by doubling down on an appeal to a shrinking base.
