My Fellow Polsters

TUESDAY POLS UPDATE: A reminder to post your nominations for our newest front page guest editor in comments below. The election will be held this Friday, February 18th.

—–

POLS UPDATE: We will hold a special election for one new front-page editor to fill out the remainder of redstateblues’ term at the end of the week. This election will be held Friday, February 18th, from 7:00AM to 7:00PM, and the new front page guest editor will take office immediately following. Use this thread to nominate candidates for the position, and we thank all of our front page editors, past and present, for their valued contributions.

To the best that we can, we at Colorado Pols do not allow official campaign staffers (for any campaign) the ability to serve as Front Page Editors. We thank redstateblues for taking it upon his/herself to inform us that he/she has accepted a campaign staff position.

This is the 37th time I have spoken to you from this front page, where so many decisions have been made that shaped the history of this blog. Each time I have done so to discuss with you some matter than I believe affected the state’s interest.

However, in recent days I have come to take a position on a Denver municipal campaign. Rather than try to wade through a scandal involving conflict of interest, I have decided to step aside.

I have never been a quitter. To leave office before my term is completed is abhorrent to every instinct in my body. But as Front Page Editor, I must put the interest of the blog first. Colorado Pols needs a full-time Front Page Editor, particularly at this time.

To continue to fight through the months ahead for my personal satisfaction would almost totally absorb the time and attention of both the Front Page Editor and the readers of this blog in a period when our entire focus should be on the great issues of peace in the blogs and prosperity without sockpuppetry on Pols.

Therefore, I shall resign as Front Page Editor effective at 2:00 today. MADCO will be sworn in as Head FPE at that hour, on this blog.

May Pols bless you, and may Pols continue to bless the Colorado blogosphere.

  1. in that nefarious plot of MADCO’s and Alan’s to rule the world.

You’re doing the honorable thing RSB . . . so, you obviously have no future in politics.

Best wishes for your endeavor (unless you’re going to work for Romer).

  2. I clearly already was the Head FPE.

It says so in my contract, and all the checks are addressed that way.

I nominate Laughing Boy, Republican 36 and Ellie.  Not necessarily in that order.

And if you feel like telling, are you now working for that other Polster trying to do that recall?

    1. Republican 36 I haven’t gotten to know yet, and Ellie has declined, but I’m all for L B — and that would be a nice poke in the eye of certain people who share a last name with a color we rarely see in Colorado lawns these days.

    2. I’m in awe of the writing capabilities and spirit of almost everyone being nominating here, but anyone who’s got the stamina to keep getting back up from the mat here and keep sparring could make a good FPE. And that threatening phone call — awesome for the resume’. Whoever is elected: you’ve got some big shoes to fill.

  3. but if it were really a politician’s address, the whole thing would have been misconstrued and taken out of context, resulting in media persecutions that contain no truth but have proven a distraction, and so for the sake of all of the rest of us, you are stepping down to spend more time with your family. While the salary you’ll be taking might be nice to finally get a new car after 14 years and pay for your sick mother’s medical care, you’d do exactly the same thing for free. And of course you will continue to fight for the people who elected you, perhaps even moreso now that you’ve totally bailed out of fighting for them.

      1. Has asked me not to. I am complying with that request.

I’ll still be around for the extremely rare comment (like this one) but I thought it was totally inappropriate for me to continue to serve as FPE.

And with that, I melt into the ether.

  4. In my attempts to not offend Dear Leader MADCO, I’ll second the nomination of LB.

And, for the sake of entertainment, I’ll nominate Ste…uh…I mean, Diogenesdemar.  [Insert evil laugh]

      1. ran away from that muthafrackin’ verbose Geppetto wannabe?   Hey-Zeus Q. Christopolis — it would get so damn unbearable . . . every night I would pray to God to let me have a fork — just so I had something to stab into my eardrums and end my fucking agony.  The day I finally got my little wooden hands on that boxknife and cut my strings was the happiest day of my life.

  5. After all that Scott “Leave ‘Em Gessing” Gessler did to soften up the critics to make things easier on the NEXT politico with a conflict of interest? He took the heat so you won’t have to.

That’s some gratitude you show your trailblazer …

  6. Congratulations to you, RSB, for getting a paying gig in a bad economy. You aren’t doing this to spend more time with the family, aren’t you?

Second, I nominate Aristotle for FP. He’s overdue, long overdue.

  7. Kinda selfish, I know. But hey, nobody would nominate me anyways since I read more than I post. ColoradoPols is a great website and I would be more than glad to keep it going and make it better.

Of course, I would write a lot more on here if I would happen to be elected Editor. It’s time to shake things up on ColoradoPols. Give it some spice.

Let the Dark Horse win for once. Heh heh heh…

      1. I think “Politically” would probably technically qualify as “someone.”  And, even if he/she doesn’t, as a “nobody” I’ll make the nomination on his/her behalf.  (Hell, we let that Charley Miller guy run a campaign for U.S. Senator . . .)

      1. Should we designate a place-holder FPE to keep your seat warm until after the election? Pols really needs to come up with some sort of vacancy committee procedure, just like the real pols do!

  8. I really appreciate the care you took with the gig. The Pols community was fortunate to have you leading the asylum way.

I’d like to second, third, or whatever Aristotle’s nomination to zookeeper FPE.

  9. Fine, go off and play king maker. Although, if I find out you’re working for Romer, I’m gonna kick your ass.

I’ll miss you man. Best of luck to you.

Unless you’re working for Romer. And, if that’s the case…see ya back here soon.

  10. And, of course, the real America. So when’s your book coming out? How much will you charge to pep talk at one of the Baron’s rallies? Are you going to boycott the next CPAC too? And who are you endorsing for New York’s 23rd in 2012? Sorry RSB, it’s all so transparent. “Municipal campaign” my ass. It’s the $$$.
