Let's Make a Trade

  • by: Colorado Pols

The NBA trade deadline just passed, if any of you are interested in that sort of thing. The Denver Nuggets made some minor trades — nothing too thrilling.

Since it’s relatively a slow day in politics, we thought we’d take the trade talk to politics. If you could make a trade involving politicians in Colorado, what would you do? Since everybody can come up with the same “I’d trade Joe Smith for a bag of chips joke,” we’ll make that one now and get it out of the way.

  1. I’d trade Tom Tancredo away for anyone else (well, except Marilyn Musgrave) so I can have someone in Congress who will actually represent me instead of just focusing on a single issue: immigration.  There are a lot of things important to me and my family such as education, health care, and transportation issues that I would much rather see addressed.  I’d even take Joel Hefley, at least he has the backbone to against leadership when neccesary and he served his district well.  Don’t retire – just retire from the 5th and move to the 6th!

  2. As far as the Democratic Congressional candidates go, I will play with the team we have.

Angie Paccione congressional candidate for the 4th district has an excellent jump shot, was a highschool all-american, played at Stanford, and played pro ball with the WABA. She spoke at last night’s Drinking Liberally, and I have the full write up here.

In the legislative arena she has a coach’s understanding of the game, great drive, and good awareness on the court.
While her opponents strengths mostly involve dribbling and passing the ball, Angie is going to be a key part of our fast break. With Ed Perlmutter running point, and Bill Winter as our shooting guard, Angie is the power forward that will help us put points on the board. Especially with the Republicans needing eight men to guard our other forward Jay Fawcett.
Oh, and the Center? That is the Colorado Voter, and this time he is playing for us.

  3. BadMoonRising – “take their oath seriously”

Who are you kidding?  Just like he promised to only run for a couple of terms during his first campaign.  Right – he’s got character.  Actually, he does have character – the kind that isn’t any good!!

    Get your facts straight BMR!

  4. I’d trade all posts from Darth Vader for a roll in the hay with Jennifer Lopez!  Hell, I’d even trade  all posts from Darth Vader for posts from Sir Robin.  And if you think that latter offer is a sign of desperation, you’re right!  Sir Robin will never be accused of brevity or logic, but he doesn’t indulge in the vicious character assassination Darth Vader does.

  5. I don’t know Yoyageur, Sirhan Robin once called me “dumbass” like eight times in one post to try to make his pathetic point. About that time I threatened to kick his ass……….

  6. I admit that choosing between the bravely running away one and Darth Vader is like the condemned men in Utah choosing a firing squad or hanging, Gecko.  But I definitely stick by the first thought of trading all posts from Darth — or Sir Robin _ for a roll in the hay with JLo!

  7. Are we a nation of laws? do we want to be like Mexico-where people get snached off the street-and held for ransum?Do we get 80%of our drugs from Mexico ?Is it true 30% of the number that are in our jails-are illegals? Are we getting members of M.S.13 comeing to our country?Tell you what if this B.S.keeps up-It will not be safe to walk the dam streets. Is that what you want?
