"Online Debates" Next Week

  • by: Colorado Pols

We’re taking a close look at both of the congressional primaries next week with two “online debates.”

On Monday, we’ll publish the responses from four of the six Republican candidates in CD-5 (the campaigns for Doug Lamborn and Lionel Rivera did not respond to our requests).

Then on Wednesday, we’ll publish the responses for the three Democrats running in CD-7. We gave each candidate an opportunity to ask three questions of their opponents (thus, Peggy Lamm, Ed Perlmutter and Herb Rubenstein will each answer a total of six questions).

Why did we do the “online debates” in this format? For one thing, we couldn’t figure out a good way to be able to do a back-and-forth with so many candidates at once in a live setting. We also thought it would be interesting to let the candidates ask the questions themselves; after all, nobody is going to ask tougher questions than your opponents.

  1. Where are Lamborn & Rivera, down in the Bunker?  Maybe those two should just have a cage match, while the other candidates finish this thing off.

  2. His campaign had a brushfire last week and he’s doing great.  Crank is just outside single digits and easily the third runner here.  He’ll be the spoiler at this point.

No need for Lamborn to speak to anybody right now who’s not undecided.

  3. One needs to use divine skills, or “intelligent design” to determine the polling figures for Doug Lamborn.

The only known Crank supporters are Josef Stalin, Osama bin Laden and Howard Dean. This represents a total of 3.

This leaves approximately 5 billion supporters of Doug Lamborn. Thus, Lamborn’s support exceeds Crank’s at this time.

One caveat–some portion of the 5 billion lives outside the Congressional District. It is assumed most of these outside the district are in the process of moving into the district and registering as Republicans in order to support Lamborn in the primary.

    1. many of those moving in do not have their papers in order and are thus “illegal aliens”.  Lamborn’s understood position on these new arrivals is that they, along with all illegals should be put death.  Lamborn’s campaign is preparing a position paper that these summary executions will be postponed until Nov. 8th.

      1. “Lamborn’s understood position on these new arrivals is that they, along with all illegals should be put death.  Lamborn’s campaign is preparing a position paper that these summary executions will be postponed until Nov. 8th.”

These martyrs will gladly sacrifice something as meaningless as their mortal lives to contribute a vote to St. Lamborn.

  4. I think we all know who is going to win the CD7 debate, like he always does. Herb Rubenstein. That’s for sure.

Anyone hear the 3 candidates on Jay Marvin 760 AM Tuesday morning? Hearing Ed and Peggy argue about NOTHING for 20 minutes pretty much ruined my entire day.

At least Herb had useful things to say.

    1. I think Herb mentioned you on Jay’s show… Are you one of the 5,000 volunteers he has? Pretty soon you can all split off and form your own country… Rubetopia.
