Kanye Is Out, And We Couldn't Care Less

Kanye West.

The word today from FOX News is that Kanye West, the rapper turned Donald Trump supporter who announced less than two weeks ago that he would himself run for President in 2020, has changed his mind just as suddenly:

Kanye West has dropped his 2020 presidential bid, according to a new report.

The 43-year-old rapper’s campaign has reportedly been suspended less than two weeks after he shocked the nation with a tweet that confirmed his decision to run for president of the United States in November…

Intelligencer writer Ben Jacobs wrote on Tuesday that he reached out to West’s publicist for confirmation on his recent efforts, when the musician’s team suddenly “went dark.”

“As I waited for a response, I followed up with [“get-out-the-vote specialist” Steve] Kramer who told me, ‘He’s out,'” Jacobs claimed.

For all the media attention he’s received in the last 11 days, this was our first post on Ye’s 2020 “presidential” aspirations. It’s anybody guess whether this was originally hatched as a diversion targeting anti-Trump voters, some kind of half-baked attempt to revive West’s reputation after being damaged by his support for Trump, or something else that makes even less sense. Given the expected workload of actual news to cover between now and November, we’re completely fine with this being our last post about Kanye in 2020.

  1. Did Kanye's tweet on his decision to run really " shock the nation ", or did we all just move on quickly to the next bit of news without a moment of thought about the subject.

  2. He’s baaaack….sort of. Kanye rallies in S. Carolina. Even though ballot deadline’s passed.

Well, that’s just silly. The American people would never elect a rich guy who babbles incoherently, listens only to the voices in his head, denies history, and thinks that the rules don’t apply to him….oh, wait.
