  1. CPols boldly ignores the latest mass murder on the FP.

WE MUST HAVE A BIPARTISAN SOLUTION BECAUSE EVERYONE KNOWS THE BEST IDEAS ARE EXACTLY HALFWAY BETWEEN THE D and R PHILOSOPHIES.

WE also know both sides are equally motivated to find a solution, but “60 votes”.

WE also know SFL Bennet must not propose anything radical, NAY ANYTHING,  because Republicans will call him names and that’s mean and then you can’t be all Bipartisanny and stuff.

  2. I have a simple suggestion. What would happen if none of us engaged Ahab for 24 hours? Simply ignored his Bennet screeds?

If Zappy goes off on Bennet with one of his tirades and nobody listened it, did it make a sound?

  3. Investors Business Daily opines this AM that voters are beginning to feel better about the Trump economy. Offers that the blue tsunami in November may be more of just a ripple, with the Dems not picking up enough seats to regain the House.

IBD says Dems are relying too heavily on hatred or dislike of Trump. Sounds like more complacency again on the part of the Dems. Just like in Nov., 2016 when Dems snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Of course, with far left types like Zapp leading the way, one can understand why the Dems may not get there in November.

    1. Media tries to make it look competitive, meanwhile we won a state leg. seat in Florida from a Buchanan.

I'll believe the defeat from victory bs in November if we're burying the party along with our Constitution. Ballot returns are what matters, not what Politico says to get a clicky out of ya.

      1. The thousands of us who are working for local and state parties, and volunteering on Dem campaigns (local, state, and federal) are just fine with people thinking we're going away. As the saying goes, hold my beer . . .

    1. Apparently "thoughts and prayers" is passe….is "heartbroken" the new word to shield politicians who don't want to do anything reduce the number of  these "horrible traged(ies)"?

    2. And the connection is?   Yep, the big bad NRA again as the whipping boy.

NRA got pilloried over Sandy Hook as well. NRA teaches in firearm safety classes that firearms in the home must be secured from anyone that should not have access to them. The shooter at Sandy Hook had a history of mental and behavior issues (just like the FL shooter), yet his mother failed to secure her firearms.

The fact is, the single thing that would have prevented Sandy Hook was what the NRA preaches, but let's ignore the facts and instead make baseless knee jerk comments.

My comments would center on how and why a 19 year old with known behavior problems had an AR-15, an arsenal of ammunition, and reportedly was manufacturing bombs as well.

NOTE: I’m not an NRA member, never have been, and never intend to be one.

      1. Um, perhaps because the NRA spends millions each year on senators like Cory Gardner to have them block all attempts to reduce the availability of military-style weapons and cop killer ammo?

      2. Thank god he wasn’t old enough to buy beer! . . .

Thank gop Bush and the GOPers let the assault weapons ban expire, because, you know, almost nobody uses assault weapons criminally . . .

  4. Remember what Trump said – We'll be seeing those huge increases in take home pay in our mid-February checks?

I just received my mid-February paycheck and my take home pay decreased by $5.00. Didn't Trump promise the middle class tax relief or am I missing something?

        1. Now would be a great time for her to increase her 401k contribution if she’s not already at maximum, especially if she gets any kind of employer match. Also opening an HSA, or increasing that contribution, if possible. And, beyond that, I would, as I wrote below, consider upping the income tax withholding at least through the end of this year and until you see what the actual impact of this new tax scam law is going to be a when you file next year.

    1. You might want to amend and up your withholding now, too.

I don’t believe for a second that the new tax tables aren’t intentionally jacked-up to underwithhold to make it look like people are getting more than they should.  The next April (2019) after the elections a lot of non-1%ers are gonna’ be in for a rude, rude awakening when they file their 2018 returns and find out how much they will then owe.

  5. I got to talk with 12 year old children today about a safety plan. Inside shooter? Lock and hide out. Barricade. Wait. Outside Shooter? Lockdown, same procedure.

Maybe safer outside? Take a chance. Exit and disperse.

But a gunhead's "right" to buy a full auto rifle Trumps the right of 12 year olds to ever feel safe again.  And no, more guns everywhere do not make them safer.

Teacher Phillip Timothy articulates how I feel about these conversations.
