As FOX 31’s Ashley Michels reports–while most of Congress is wrestling with the ongoing shutdown of the federal government, and pressing issues from the faltering Trump economy to Schrödinger’s Epstein Files competing for the attention of voters, Colorado’s carpetbagging cornucopia of crazy Rep. Lauren Boebert just dropped another distraction into this most distracted of news cycles.
Let’s talk about aliens! And not the undocumented human variety:
In an email Monday addressed to conservatives, Boebert questioned the existence of aliens and demanded transparency from the government about UFOs…
There were two demands actually: transparency about extraterrestrial aliens, and badly-needed cash for Lauren Boebert’s re-election campaign:
“Strange crafts have been spotted soaring through our skies, defying the laws of physics, and yet the bureaucrats in Washington act like we’re too NAIVE to handle the facts.
“They tell us we’re crazy like we can’t see these things flying through the air with our own eyes.
“I SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! The American people aren’t children to be spoon-fed half-truths or dismissed with vague excuses. We deserve to know what’s really going on up there.”
The email contains a link to a website that asks, “Are aliens real?!” and asks supporters to donate money to Lauren Boebert for Congress.
This isn’t the first time that Boebert has broached the subject of extraterrestrials potentially among us, or under the sea, or we assume wherever aliens want to be because they can travel here from other planets–but the timing of this change of subject, in the middle of a politically calamitous government shutdown, amidst Boebert’s high-profile defiance of Donald Trump on the matter of the Epstein files, and so many other earthly matters urgently requiring the attention of responsible lawmakers, makes this seem like the mothership of all diversionary tactics.
Though we concede that if aliens did show up tomorrow in giant ships over the cities of the world, everybody’s priorities would change. We’ve seen that movie.
Until then, Boebert should stay focused on the one thing she has done right all these crazy years.
