A Swedish engineering firm sponsored a survey that showed strong support for government subsidies for renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives:
https://www.abb-betterworld.com…
More government spending on renewables and efficiency is very popular among corporate executives, government employees, and energy industry experts. It was less popular among the public at large.
Is corporate america sincerely going green? The only green here is the color of crony cash:
1. Corporate Executives: There will be more money to pay my bonus
2. Government Employees: The union can justify and demand a higher salary for me
3. Energy Industry Experts: Companies will heve money to pay my high consulting fees
The sponsor is Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), one of the largest construction firms. Their profits comes from building wind, solar, and smart grid projects (and coal and nuclear plants too).
The survey is a political tool to convince us that “all these smart people want to see more government spending on wind, solar, and smart grid projects. You should too.”
Go with the flow and vote for higher profits for ABB and their multinational corporate brothers.
