Bentley Rayburn- Best Choice, as explained by Mayor Lionel Rivera

Mayor Rivera, in today’s Colorado Springs Gazette explains why Bentley Rayburn is most qualified to lead.  Rayburn, the only candidate in the race who is not a lawyer, lobbyist or professional politician possesses the experience, vision and leadership to go to Washington and get things done for the 5th District.  Rayburn is ready to lead […]

The Best Fundraising Appeal Ever

( – promoted by Colorado Pols) Ok, this is next door in Kansas but it is absolutely incredible. It is for a state rep who is running. The previous max number of donors for a state rep in Kansas is 644. This person is now at 2,894. Click through to this – Running for Office: […]

Obama’s “Best Path” To Victory: Colorado

We said previously that the choice of the Democratic nominee would directly affect the degree to which Colorado is considered a battleground in this year’s election. And with Hillary Clinton–who most believe would not have plotted a Western victory strategy given her relative unpopularity here–out of the picture, Politico reports this morning: With his trademark […]

The Best the Republicans can Do

Rather than talk about the issues, Bob Schaffer wants to discuss ZIP codes. This is the best he can do? Rather than take a stand on “Personhood Amemendment”, Bob Schaffer tells reporters “he’s really busy focusing on his own campaign to take sides.” This is the best he can do? If he’s to be our […]

Doug Bruce, The Best Friend a Democrat Could Ever Have

From the Rocky Mountain News: Rep. Douglas Bruce was cut off from House debate on a bill for a pilot foreign farm-worker program today after saying Colorado doesn’t need “5,000 more illiterate peasants.” “How dare you,” said Rep. Rep. Kathleen Curry, D-Gunnison, who was chairing the floor debate. She ordered Bruce to leave the speaker’s […]

Best for the Party?

I’ve heard two competing guesses about what the continuing campaign between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.  The upbeat one is that the continuing news attention on the contest will suck any oxygen out of the room so that John McCain will get very little free attention from the media.  With the higher name recognition this […]

Westword Announces “Best Political Spinners” Awards

On the left, Westword gave its 2008 “Best of” in this category to: Best Political Spinner – Left (2008) ProgressNow.org An outgrowth of the Rocky Mountain Progressive Network, ProgressNow.org and its sister site, ProgressNowAction.org, have been burrs under the conservative saddle for several years, and if Michael Huttner and his cohorts have their way, the […]

Rayburn Makes Strong Showing Despite El Paso GOP’s Best Efforts to Lock Him Out

Despite being locked-out for refusing to sign Greg Garcia’s pledge, Bentley Rayburn and his supporters made a strong showing at the El Paso County Assembly.  A delegate himself, Rayburn was on hand to greet delegates and discuss the issues while his campaign team served up hotdogs and refreshments to those who stopped by the Rayburn […]

Lamborn best positioned to represent voters

FROM SUNDAYS Colorado Springs Gazette 5TH DISTRICT Lamborn best positioned to represent voters I loved Gazette columnist Barry Noreen’s common-sense article in Wednesday’s paper (“It’s hard to see why Lamborn has 2 GOP challengers”). The question these challengers should be asking is, “How will entering the race benefit the Republican Party?” Jeff Crank’s Web site […]

Bruce Does His Best Joe Stengel

Unbelievable, as the Rocky Mountain News reports: Rep. Douglas Bruce made much of his decision to wait until five days after the opening of this year’s legislative session to be sworn in despite appeals by his own party that he start on time. But records show the Colorado Springs Republican charged per diem, and received […]

The Best Friend a Democrat Could Ever Have

Leave it to Rep. Doug Bruce to go out of his way to be more ridiculous than Adele Arakawa’s hair. From the Rocky Mountain News: Rep. Douglas Bruce did it again… …Today he infuriated fellow lawmakers by being the lone legislator who refused to cosponsor a Joint House-Senate resolution honoring Military and Veterans Appreciation Day. […]

Latest poll, Edwards does best against GOP

The margin of sampling error for results based on the total sample […]

Best…Ballot Measure…Ever

We’ve already seen several proposed ballot measures for 2008, including one that would make a fertilized egg a person, but this is the best proposed measure we’ve seen in a long time. We don’t even know what this means, but there are a lot of commas and a lot of great lines: Shall Hillary Clinton […]

Rudy Best GOP Bet in Colorado Thus Far

RBI Strategies today released statewide results from a Presidential poll. In a head-to-head matchup, Rudy Giuliani outpolls Hillary Clinton 50-44. Giuliani is less successful in a matchup with Barack Obama, leading just 46-45. Both Clinton and Obama handily beat Mitt Romney, however. Also of note: Governor Bill Ritter has a 66% favorability rating.

Best of Colorado Springs – 2007

Vote online for The Independent’s annual Best of Colorado Springs. Newbie here; therefore most of the categories left me confused and longing for Best Cuban in Tampa Bay. Examples: Best Tapas? What’s a tapas? Never heard of a Best Local or National Outdoor Outfitter. Best Trash Service? Seriously? Best Adult Store. Wow. Didn’t think they […]

“New Musgrave,” Best Friend Mark Udall Hug for Cameras

It’s a topsy-turvy world, as the Denver Post’s Bob Ewegen illustrates: If you want to get away from Colorado’s oppressive summer heat, you should consider traveling to Hades Sunday. It’s sure to be frozen over. This weather report is brought to you courtesy of U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave, version 2.0. It arrived in my e-mail […]

Which Presidential Contender is Best for Schaffer?

See below for the explanation.

Which Presidential Contender is Best for Udall?

M.E. Sprengelmeyer’s blog “Back Roads to the White House” touched yesterday on John Edwards’ claims of electability and what his name at the top of the ticket would mean for other candidates in a particular state. So, of course, we’ll put that question to you: Which Presidential contender benefits Democrat Mark Udall’s bid for the […]

Top Prize: Best Bigot

Who knew that white supremacists awarded prizes in literature? And who the hell would apply for the award? You can’t put this on your resume: The Anti-Defamation League on Thursday condemned a white supremacist essay attributed to a composition instructor at the University of Colorado’s Boulder campus. But the civil rights group also noted that […]

Who are the best consultants?

OK, we’ve seen the brickbats being thrown as to who really screwed their candidate’s pooches this election. Reminds me of the old joke: “How you define a consultant?” “Someone who doesn’t have a girlfriend so he borrows your wife to show you how it’s done and charges you for the lesson.” (Fell free to change […]

What Website is best for election data – by region?

I figure there are five major regions for election data: Denver/Boulder: Eastern Plains: Colorado Springs/Pueblo: Intermountain: Western Slope: What resources are people in those regions going to be looking at to get their poll data? (This way I get all the best places to look without having to do the research myself) I figure it […]
