Big Thanks to Coloradopols and Everyone Here

( – promoted by Colorado Pols)

Just a big thank you to Coloradopols.com and everyone here for all the help you’ve been over the last 3+ months as I’ve hosted the drive-time show for KKZN. It was a big challenge for me – I’ve never hosted radio for such an extended period of time, and the solid local reporting/commentary on this site provided a huge amount of much-needed content, analysis and fodder for the show. Indeed, barely a day went by without multiple on-air references to this site.

It’s not clear whether I’ll be back on the air when I get home from a long-planned trip to China to see a friend in the Peace Corps. It’s not clear both because we’re still hoping Jay Marvin recovers and will be back, and because I have to crank up the work on my upcoming book. Long term, I’d love to do my own super-locally-focused show every day – but, for reasons just outlined, I just have no idea whether that’s in the cards right now.

Either way, though, I just wanted to express a big thank you both to those who have posted such good material here, and those from the Coloradopols community who have emailed me directly with great leads. I’m sure some of you hated the show, I know we’ve had our fights/differences on this site before, and I’m sure I didn’t do a perfect job as a radio host, but I did my best. Along with KKZN’s fantastic producer John Turk, we did our best to make the show as locally focused as possible – every single day we’ve covered major local issues, and it couldn’t have been that way without your help.

P.S. Westword has this report on Jay and my note to KKZN listeners posted on am760.net. Check it out.
