Last week was one of the most bizarre and troubling weeks in American political history.
As the investigation into President Donald Trump’s ties to the Russian government and possible collusion to win the 2016 election continues, President Trump’s abrupt firing of FBI Director James Comey is the most brazen attempt to manipulate an investigation into a sitting President since Richard Nixon. Trump is now working actively to thwart this investigation, and daring Americans to do something about it.
In Colorado, Rep. Mike Coffman earned a “golf clap” for saying again that a special prosecutor may be necessary to get a fair investigation—again garnering questionable praise for merely doing his job. Meanwhile Sen. Cory Gardner, who sits on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has refused to call for a special prosecutor even after Trump’s firing of FBI Director Comey.
The first thing we need you to do this week is call Sen. Gardner at (202) 224-5941 and demand he call for a special prosecutor to investigate Trump.
We know that the pressure on Colorado Republicans is working. Coffman would not be calling for a special prosecutor if it wasn’t for the constituents like you who demanded he stand up to Donald Trump. Trump’s agenda is not floundering because Republicans won’t go along with it. It is the pressure you are putting on these politicians forcing them to reconsider.
We can’t stop now. Here are more ways to take action for the week of May 15th:

As always, keep an eye on your inbox this week. Events could prompt another quick-response action like last week’s highly successful protest against the firing of FBI Director Comey outside Sen. Cory Gardner’s offices in Denver. Thanks again to all of you who stand ready at a moment’s notice to resist Trump and the far-right agenda.
With your help, we’re going to prevail. Never forget that you are on the right side of history.
