First quarter fundraising in the 4th Congressional District

Today’s the deadline for first quarter campaign finance reports, so I’ll be updating the CD4 numbers at Coloradoan.com as they become available.

My first update looks at the numbers raised by the “Draft Diggs” group. Diggs Brown is a former Fort Collins City Council member and a Colorado Army National Guard major who’s on a year of active duty. He can’t be active politically while on active duty, hence the “draft” movement organized by supporters. They raised just over $29K.

3:20 p.m. update: Tom Lucero, the only announced GOP candidate in the 4th so far, announced that he raised only $14,000 in the quarter.

4:45 update: Incumbent Betsy Markey announced last week that she’d raised $342,000 in Q1. Her report filed this afternoon showed lots of PAC support from labor, as might be expected, but also from business and agriculture groups. Details here:
