We’re notifying folks, should be fixed soon.
but look at that sexy new URL structure!
we’re researching the problem right now 🙂

those who are getting long in the tooth might sometimes forget where we are.

For fun, here are what the good citizens are thinking as you drive through our towns on your way to eastern Utah this Spring:
From today’s GJ Sentinel’s Letters:
These are 3 of the 5 letters posted today. And its the same every day, with the national columnists running about 4:1 conservative to moderate and the letters more like 5:1.
They fear Mexicans, terrorists, environmentalists and Bill Ritter. They are angry, bitter, and nasty. They toss around words like nazis, Hitler, communism, Mao, Stalin, and Sweden with sense neither for irony or hyperboyle. But they are printed, day in and day out, as if their whining actually had an intelligent component.
I believe in free speech, and even wing nuts who send in letters each week to every paper on the Western Slope (Doran, you’re being called out here!), have a right to send letters in and they should even occasionally be printed, but are there no standards for argumentation any longer? Even on the opinion page?
Every single day the Sentinel fills their opinion pages up with this crap. Day in, day out. So, in regards to yesterday’s poll: I use to get my news from hard copy papers–subscribed to the Sentinel daily for 12 years, but enough is enough.
Its an embarrassment to read this dribble in what was once a proud–albeit always conservative–paper. I know they are desperate for content that doesn’t actually cost money, but there are actually intelligent people in Western Colorado, even some who are conservative.
Apparently they never write to the Sentinel, or when they do they aren’t printed.
But you can try your luck at letters@gjds.com.
So the only reason we have poor people is they choose to be poor.
But standing amongst these lunatic fringers, Josh Penry looks like a RINO!
What’s so dismaying about these individuals are that they should be fighting to tax the rich more so that their schools are funded, Medicare is funded, etc. The increase in prosperity due to productivity is not going to them, but the uber-rich.
But the Right Wing Bullshit Machine has them turned around to take the side of the rich! Joe The (Not Licensed) Plumber is the poster boy of this delusion.
This is only one reason I think such people are idiots. The proof is everywhere.
editor wrote a couple of weeks ago:
I wonder if he is publishing those letters to make his point or if he is just reverting to his Rush Limpbough tactics.
“If you take what I say as gospel, you’re an idiot.” Glenn Beck, Conservative
Perhaps because it’s for sale, there doesn’t appear to be the same amount of care given to the editorial page. There used to be a better breakdown of opinion, as ClubTwitty notes.
Not knowing when the paper might sell, who might be the new owner and who will keep their jobs would change your outlook on things.
Still, they don’t have to run every wingnut letter they get.
its gay and lesbian citizens.

maybe change “begun” to “resumed.”
Also, if I understand correctly, while homosexual men, bisexual men, and the transgendered have much to fear, I have the impression that the cultural norms in Iraq are not as threatening to lesbians. Check or hold ?
The Colorado Congressional delegation includes someone who is something of an authority on this subject.
Someone who risked his neck over Thanksgiving in 2007 to travel to Iraq over this very issue.
This is not new.
……
I heard in a lecture by a Colorado businessman years ago that Arab culture is 99% repulsed by male homosexual behavior, but that some Arab Princes would take large entourages into the desert for riding, hunting, falconry and partying, and women were banned. They might stay for more than a month.
The entourages reportedly included young boys to entertain the Prince.
The lecturer indicated that the culture was akin to that in a US prison: men denying any homosexual or bisexual orientation, but participating in the behavior nonetheless.
Was this guy just jerking my chain ? Any truth to this ?
.
truth to what the professor described (I have no reason to doubt it)…but what he was describing was pedophelia…not homosexual relationships or orientation.
.
thanks for the correction.

Historically, that’s usually the way it’s worked in other parts of the world. In Nazi Germany, for instance, gay men were branded with the pink triangle and sent to the death camps. Lesbianism, on the other hand, was not illegal but frowned upon. Lesbians were often raped because the Nazis thought that would straighten them out. I’m guessing it didn’t.
House Minority Leader Mike May has been making the rounds these days – Lincoln Day dinners, party functions, etc. Rumor was he was considering a run for statewide office. Sounds like he may be considering taking on Bennet for the U.S. senate seat. Given the other candidates, I think he’d make a formidable opponent. Any truth to the rumors?
Generally, I like him and think the minority’s lucky to have him. Unfortunately, I don’t think he “sparkles” enough to win statewide. Maybe if he could sit down with every constituent.
Does this mean that David Balmer will finally become minority leader?
Oh please, please, please!
And failing that, just install Amy Stephens.
Yeah, I can’t get it to work. Seems like there’s a joke here.
took a look….it is quite obviously a right wing web site. Faux Noise has apparently given up any pretense of being Fair and Balanced.
Prolly 3-6. Willing to meet with Polsters, left or right! Check out Wanda’s!
Oh, man, so want to see those geologic tetons again. Grab some of the old neighbor’s crab apple wood for smoking, it’s the best. Bring back a bunch of Santiago’s breakfast burritos.
The list keeps growing.
…we can get together.
I’ll keep you posted.
Because you can’t beat a nobody with an even bigger nobody !
Got an email last night.
Kick ass nugget:
Surely the Pubs will find something wrong with this public servant and any future ambitions she may have.
Maybe Warren Buffet will hire her.
I’ve gotten e-mails from her and Michael Bennet, but no Bill Ritter. I haven’t heard a peep from the Governor about 2010, and that concerns me.
