  1. Aaaaannnd……it's over. Tom, to answer your question, the whole world  ( or whatever thousands of  people were watching local news today) was watching to see if this crazy ass attempt at appealing to the conscience of Republicans would work. Duh….it didn't. No conscience, no appeal possible.  Trump voters stayed 100% behind him, some Hillary and independent voters defected in hopes of inspiring a mass defection which didn't happen.

In Colorado, electors wanted the freedom to vote contrary to the state's majority, which does seem kind of strange since our state went for Hillary.

At least it made our Secretary of State look like an idiot. And it did point out that Trump has no kind of "mandate", excep possibly a "man date" with Vladdy.

So the electoral vote is over, but the resistance to the reign of Drumpf is just beginning.

    1. Wait just a minute MJ, are you trying to tell us that a Fascist Kleptocracy, run by a thin-skinned, fragile-ego, vengeful, easily manipulated, erratic narcissistic megalomaniac is NOT a good thing?

Gee, and here I was about to invest my life savings in Trump Steak futures!

        1. I was actually happy to see jeffco put those pedestrian bridges in as a rare break from its autos uber alles policy.  Maybe they don't get much use but some consideration Of alternatives to cars is usually something I support

          1. I don't have any real beef with Jeffco's bridges – the one at Kipling and 12th gets a lot of use with elementary and middle school kids crossing over it.  Some of the downtown ones need to be either made functional and safe again, or removed.

I'm still waiting to see if Davie will buy titles….Is the check in the mail yet? smiley

  2. Marianne Goodland at the Independent quoted Nemanich, one of the nine electors:

“This is a dustup by the Secretary of State to do two things: grandstanding for his presumed quest for governor and to set us up for a perjury trap after the fact,” he told The Independent.

Goodland spelled out the previous generic oath electors took, and Williams' last-minute, very specific "trap" oath intended to intimidate electors into voting for the state winner.

I hadn't been aware that Williams intended to run for Governor, but this does fit the "grandstanding" profile. Unfortunately for him, it backfired, with people shouting for him to be recalled because of his overreach.
