  1. R.I.P.  Peter Blake. Passed away last week and obit was in the Sunday Denver Post. Peter was a reporter; and a good one; for the old Rocky Mountain News for 39 years. He was 80.

    1. We were professional rivals all that time but I always respected Pete's industry and integrity.   He made me and two generations of other journalists better at our jobs.  — bob ewegen. Denver Post, 1972-2008.

      1. I missed him when he left the Rocky. I missed Fred Brown when he left the Post, too. After they were gone, the papers' political coverage declined, and when the Rocky died, they had no one left except Bartles, the Republican shill. Now, even she's gone. So, I get most of my political info from the blogs. And did anyone else find it creepy that so many of the former reporters got jobs in the governments they used to excoriate daily?

    1. Our Senior senator could do a lot of things to defend this nation from Russian aggression…but, he won't.  Cyber attacks are no less attacks on U.S. sovereignty than an attack with bombs and guns.

I do not envision Sen Bennet doing anything but keeping his mouth shut.

      1. And, of course, sen. Bennet is the only elected Democrat in America and has sole responsibility for setting the world right.  Christ on a pogo stick, duke, you are sounding almost as psychotic as Zappy these days.

        1. He is my Senator, V. He is supposed to represent me and you and all the citizens of this state. I will leave other senators to their constituents.

This is not a joke. The Russian government has interfered with this election. At this early stage we cannot possibly know the full extent of the wheeling and dealing going on at the billionaire level, but I'll bet my best pocketknife that Manafort and Tillerson have some interesting connections, as well.

This is dirty, V. Senator Bennet would be wise to show some backbone and loudly condemn the Trump attempt to steal the election and fully support an immediate investigation and the release of all Trumps financial information….now.

Senator Bennet can make a difference here if he will stand up and be counted…we'll see.

          1. Tiny:

            Newsflash: Bennet has no backbone.

Newsflash 2: Hillary lost because she sucked as a candidate.

Exactly how much time did she campaign in Wisconsin and Michigan?

            1. No one gives a flying fuck about your opinion, you Russian sympathizer. You are a traitor to this nation and should be deported.

Maybe you will get lucky and you can hang out with your Kremlin buddies when you get sent back to Mother Russia.

              1. Tiny

Are you going to be at the inauguration?

                Should be a great time.

I understand Garth Brooks will be performing.

Nothing like country music to celebrate a "Russian" victory.

I will be sure to buy a pacifier to send you as a present.

Maybe I can find one with Hillary's picture on it.

                1. I understand your delight, PissAnt.

You and your Russian buddies have pulled off an amazing theft. You have now managed to destroy democracy in the United States and your joy at having done so is impossible to contain… I get it. You are a traitor and proud of it.

Enjoy your short lived victory… while your leader starts a war with China.

Your Fuhrer now has the opportunity to dismantle our democracy and establish a full blown kleptocracy (Rex Tillerson as Sec of State?), but if you think it will be easy to get rid of Americans who believe in democracy, freedom, and inclusion…you had better think again.

We are still here and we are coming after you. Revel in your theft and gloat as you will. But, keep looking over your shoulder. Now that you have taken the reins of power, you have to hold on to them….good luck with that.

                  1. Tiny:

Even your fearless leader does not think the voting process was tinkered with.

Why didn't fearless leader do anything about Russian hacking before his hand-picked loser lost?

                    1. I did not mention the voting process. Why do you?

Are you saying that is the only way your Russian allies can affect an outcome is by messing with the ballot box?

Your candidate asked the Russians to hack Hillary Clintons' campaign. They did. It affected the outcome. This is the conclusion of many, many people who are a damned sight smarter and well informed than either you or I. You, by supporting that action and not demanding accountability are guilty of sedition.

You appear to be happy at this invasion of American sovereignty. When they hack the Pentagon, will you support that eventuality? When they hack our power grid and our transportation systems, will you go for that? Or does your treason only extend as far as Hillary Clinton?

Trump has nominated a cabinet designed to destroy the American environment, neglect our poor and middle-class childrens' education, free up corporations to poison our food supply for profit, cripple two of the fastest growing industries in the nation, impoverish our workforce, and on and on. Oh, and did I mention cutting taxes for the wealthy? …at least we get that.

You never address the consequences of this charade….you just keep gloating about victory…Seig, Heil!

                      Enjoy, comrade.

    1. Did you check and make sure those 131 additional votes were not from the 6 million illegal votes that President-elect Trump said were cast in the general election this year?

I’m sure you agree with him that we wouldn’t want any of those illegitimate votes counted for him or Hillary Clinton.

        1. You have no difficulty at all accepting that Russia may have picked our President? No moral qualms, patriotic quivers, Cold War tummy tremors? Putin is A-OK by you to replace democracy with his brand of authoritarianism?

You know who "lost", if this is allowed to stand? Everything you say that you stand for.

          1. What our Kremlin loving guttersnipe doesn't realize is just how fully and completely he has been duped. Gloat while you can, asshole.

Someday you may become our own Vidkun Quisling. And perhaps even meet the same fate.

          2. MJ:

I voted for Trump and picked our President.

There is no evidence that any voting machines were hacked.

There is, however, plenty of evidence that Dems are sore losers.

            1. Plenty of evidence that Russia hacked both party databases, but never released any damning emails regarding the Republican party – only Democratic emails, and with a specific goal of decreasing Clinton's chances of being elected.

There may also be evidence of specific voter databases being hacked and altered, by Russian operatives – that is part of the bulk of the evidence which is still classifiied.

            2. You're unnecessarily conflating two issues. First, lets put President-elect Trump's election on the shelf. He won the election and will be inaugurated on January 20, 2017. That was settled on November 8, 2016.

Now to a completely separate issue and that is the Russian involvement in our election. Don't you want to know if a major foreign power was attempting to influence our election? This goes way beyond hacking into voting machines which in our system can't be done but what about "fake news" or the Wikileaks emails that were released. Were any of the emails doctored. The Russians hacked the DNC's computers and extracted information. They hacked the RNC computers but due to the security measures the GOP took were unable to extract information. The Russians in the past two years have hacked into the Ukraine's election system, into France and Britain. The American people have a right to know if a foreign power attempted to infiltrate and influence our election, whether they were successful or not, regardless of who won the election. Mr. Trump won so why doesn't he and you want to know what the Russians did or attempted to do? I can't figure out what the two of you are worried about.

              1. They are worried that the CIA will leak Trumps' taxes before he is inaugurated and the world will find out what a liar and criminal he is.

Putin will use Trump as long as he is useful in challenging Chinese hegemony. This is as much about Sino-Russian relations as anything else. China has long drooled over the prospect of reclaiming Siberia.

Of course, the Republican party will try to use it to dismantle the last several decades of social progress and environmental protection on their way to fulfilling the Leaders' promise…to "Make America White Again".

              2. I have no problem with there being an investigation into cyber hacking, be it Russian, Chinese, or internal.

Seems to me we have done it for years and so have others. Do we want to stop reading Merkel's emails?

Seems to me our hacking and their hacking are interrelated.

                1. Dodge the issue again. I expect nothing more from a traitorous dog like you. There is only one thing important to you…Seig Heil!

                  …or should I say, instead…."Privetstvuyu Pobedy!"

                2. Thanks, I'm glad you now agree we should investigate Russian hacking and its influence on the 2016 election. That topic certainly fits within your definition of what constitutes a legitimate subject for investigation.
