UPDATE: Washington Post now reporting Donald Trump will not attend the Colorado GOP state convention this weekend. A rally in Colorado Springs also cancelled.
—–

That’s the word from CBS4; we know how many of our readers will be terribly disappointed at the news:
Denver police say a tentative appearance by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in Denver this Friday has been called off…
Previously, numerous Denver officers had been told their days off Friday were being canceled in anticipation of the GOP candidate making a stop in Denver. No reasons have been given for the change in plans.
Any number of possible reasons for this cancellation, of course, but we can’t help but keep in mind Donald Trump’s punishing loss to Ted Cruz last night in Wisconsin as a possible reason for Trump to pull back on public events. No word yet on whether this will affect Trump’s expected appearance at the Republican state convention in Colorado Springs Saturday, but we’ll update when we hear.
On the upside, if you were figuring on getting beaten up at Trump’s rally, you now have better things to do.
