Perry Haney doing telephone polling against Morgan Carroll

  • by: Half Glass Full

Got a very detailed telephone poll that either came from Perry Haney’s camp or Mike Coffman’s earlier today.

After confirming I was a Democrat, the caller asked all kinds of questions, and told a lot about Carroll and Haney, at the end of each snippet asking whether the info would make me more or less likely to vote for one or the other.

The poll seemed objective and unsparing in its critiques of both candidates, which made me wonder whether it was actually from Coffman. Maybe he’s gauging which of the two Democratic candidates would be easier for him to beat, and then he’ll funnel money to that candidate. Stranger things have happened. But it’s probably from Haney’s camp.

  1. The poll could have even been paid for by an issue committee on Carroll's side, to gauge how damaging attack ads will be, and relative strengths and weaknesses of the candidates going into the campaign season. It's amazing what committees will spend money on to avoid asking their grassroots volunteers about what is and isn't effective. frown
