(Eep – promoted by Colorado Pols)
The word “treason” gets thrown around a lot these days, but in this case the shoe absolutely fits.
Tom Tancredo, a former Colorado Congressman and recent Gubernatorial primary loser, has become increasingly vocal about the idea that if Obama isn’t impeached, or better yet, steps down willingly, there will be an armed rebellion in the United States which forces him to do so. Concern-troll Tancredo doesn’t want to see violence, so he is kindly asking the president to consider taking the first option. In other words: blackmailing the freely elected President of the United States by threatening violence against him and his administration. In other-other words: treason.
Right Wing Watch captured Tancredo’s latest rant against Obama, whom he believes is a tyrant because of things like Obamacare and immigration reform. The former politician told Tim Wildmon of the American Family Association that it is imperative that the Republican party go through with impeaching Obama because it’s the only way to get rid of him “short of armed rebellion that everybody constantly – you know, a lot of people, I guess I should say, think to themselves is either coming or a potential – and God knows that’s not something we want to see.”
More at….
Maybe Tancredo is firing up the Tea Party gang to vote for a write-in on Tancredo, maybe? Maybe kissing up to the RMGO folks?

Maybe he's just trying to stay relevant…but, yes, this is treason, and should be called out as such.
Just as a thought experiment, imagine Saul Alinsky, Bernadette Dohrn, or Malcolm X saying this about a sitting US President. How long before they would be incarcerated?
Like Palin, he's got books to sell, suckers to bilk. Can't do that by appealing to the rational-minded by acknowledging that there are plenty of things to fix and pulling together as a nation would accelerate the process immeasurably.
The fact that he's free to run around spewing his garbage is proof that there is no tyranny. None. Nobody's going to give the wackos the satisfaction of seeing any action taken against this pathetic fading D lister. Certainly not our President.
He has to continually dial up the batshit or he will evaporate into irrelevancy. He is deeply concerned that at that moment he will cease to exist. Here's hoping.
Treason would be following through; getting others to follow through would be incitement or at worst conspiracy. Sorry – you can get away with saying some pretty craptactular things in this country without crossing the line into actual criminality; Tancredo's way over the moral and ethically creepy line, but hasn't made the criminal offense bar (yet).
You're right, Phoenix, this is sedition, not treason.
se·di·tion
siˈdiSHən/
noun
noun: sedition; plural noun: seditions
conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch. Google definition.
Civil war talk and birthering and microchips and all, maybe Both Ways was the less kooky of these two. And at the risk of sounding like Moddy, if you look at the four candidates, Gessler probably was the most rational of the bunch…..
That's a low bar, Frank.
Although Beauprez and Tancredo were free to indulge their "Freedom Warrior" fantasies while they weren't actually holding elected office, Gessler and Kopp were doing a lot of damage – Gessler by actively working to disenfranchise voters, Kopp by working hard to undermine the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
This kind of talk makes AC, Moddy and their ilk feel like the badass Freedom Warriors they never had the guts to be in real life. It's hilarous how much having a Black Man in the White House has driven them to the brink of insanity, and the closer he gets to "getting away with it" (finishing his 2nd term, being remembered by history as a decent man and a good President), the more crazed they get. The next two years are going to be both funny, sad, and scary. I wouldn't rule out one of them doing something extreme.
Ironic. If there ever was an armed conflict, you can bet your every dollar that this strutting, bloviating, Tancredo chickenshit won't be found within 5,000 miles of any of the gunfire . . .
. . . the GOP brims with nothing but piss ants these days!
Tancredo's Selective Service classification was 1Y.

So this says he was 1Y for a legit reason; panic attacks for which he was treated at 16. That doesn't excuse all of his tougher than thou bullshit posturing. It just means, according to this source, he was legitimately judged unfit for the draft except in times of national emergency. OK. Fine.
Probably coincided with the first time he heard someone speaking Spanish on the street in Colorado.
