Denver Mayoral candidate James Mejia held a press conference yesterday to announce the endorsement of former Denver Mayor Federico Pena. We couldn’t help but get a good laugh from one of the pictures of the event posted on Mejia’s Facebook page:
Check out the poor kid in the cowboy hat — he’s clearly thrilled about being asked to hold a sign in the background.

I’m sure he’s thinking about getting back to playing World of Warcraft.
Thanks for the laugh!
It just seems weird that you frontpage a bunch of union endorsements for a city council candidate but when a popular former mayor and national secretary endorses a mayoral candidate you make this?
Try not to take it personally, DenverPols is clearly biased to one or two candidates and the fragile attempts to conceal their preferences are more comical than anything. Just laugh along like I do.
Seriously, if you could tell us which candidates we’re biased towards, that would be really helpful. We literally have no horse in this race.
We wish we did, because then maybe it would be a more interesting campaign. But we don’t. Really, we don’t.
“You don’t have a horse in this race”, classic… thanks for the morning laugh.
It’s not like people don’t know you have at least one Boigon staffer on hand at D-Pols.
Two days to cover the biggest endorsement this race has see yet, not to mention the clear bias on how you you all decided to cover the labor AND Singleton endorsement for Mejia…
Come on guys, own the fact your in the Boigon camp!
Do we think Carol has a better shot at winning than say, Theresa Spahn?
Absolutely. Do we want Carol to win? It really doesn’t impact us.
Seriously, Boigon supporters think we spend too much time being critical of Boigon. Romer supporters think we spend too much time being critical of Romer. And so on and so forth.
I know it’s hard to believe, but nobody here has any preference in the race for Mayor.
AND THEN in the time it took me to post you get the Scheollter endorsment up to top your page!!
Again, admit it!! You guys are all Boigon.
You hold back posting the Pena endorsement for a day, then the Schoettler endorsement is up within an hour of it occuring!! Seriously, give your readers some credit.
Nice woman, but talk about a bad politican. She had the Governor’s office handed to her and still managed to figure out how to lose it.
For Carol’s sake I really hope she isn’t advising the campaign.
I actually was thinking about the great changes James Mejia will make for Denver, and what I wanted to have for lunch later! here is a picture of me smiling while holding the sign.
