  1. A more consequential historic marker today than yesterday's 100 Days of Trump II.  AP News reports:

Vietnam on Wednesday celebrated the 50th anniversary of the end of the war with the United States and the formation of its modern nation with a military parade and a focus on a peaceful future.

The fall of Saigon on April 30, 1975 marked the end of a Vietnam divided into the communist North and U.S.-allied South, and the country’s top official told crowds the past decades had led to ever increasing unity.

    1. Interesting that the past decades in the U.S. have led to greater disunity. I believe that event was when the U.S. began to realize it was not invincible…not ten feet tall and bulletproof. What Trump and Hegseth are doing isn't helping.

  2. Like a five year old standing in front of a shattered cookie jar pleading to his mom that "I didn't do it!", Trump's response to the news of the contraction of the economy in the first quarter:

Trump dismissed the negative GDP reading, calling it an “overhang” from the previous administration.

“This is Biden’s Stock Market, not Trump’s,” he posted on his social media site Truth Social. “Tariffs will soon start kicking in, and companies are starting to move into the USA in record numbers. … This will take a while, has NOTHING TO DO WITH TARIFFS, only that he left us with bad numbers, but when the boom begins, it will be like no other.”

The dementia-addled old fool is sounding increasingly pathetic.  Only his cult members give anything he says the slightest bit of credibility.  While his minions are still agressively attempting to execute his orders, the 100-plus defeats (and counting) handed to him by the courts are having an effect.  Many of the losses are not even being appealed, in apparent concession that they lack any legal substance, and merely intended for shock value and intimidation.  Bluff called, they are moving on to newer fronts.
