Originally posted over the weekend by Denver Post columnist and Trump v. Anderson plaintiff Krista Kafer, as distributed at the Colorado Republican Party’s state assembly in Pueblo. How fast can you spot the problem?
As we hope our astute readers know, and if you don’t here’s a golden opportunity to burn it deep into your head–Election Day 2024 is Tuesday, November 5th 2024.
Not November 6th. If you turn in your ballot or show up to vote on November 6th, you’re in for a rude shock.
Upon closer examination you can see that part of the above page appears to be reprinted from a 1967 Colorado Republican Party newsletter, which led to some excuse-making by party faithful:
But there’s just one problem: Election Day 1967 was Tuesday, November 7th.
All of which led to this confession and mea culpa today from Colorado GOP vice-chair Hope Scheppelman, admitting this was very much a 2024 mistake, and asking for something Hope calls “grace.”
Now folks, if this had been a Democratic publication telling voters to vote the day after the election, do you think Republicans would be asking us all to remember that we are “all human and are fallible?” We are of course asking this question rhetorically, since everybody knows it would be a headline on Fox News in a matter of hours with every conservative commentator in the land setting their hair on fire.
We wouldn’t hold it against Democrats to treat Republicans in this case exactly how they would expect to be treated in return–but Democrats might decide the self-own by their opponents is recompense enough.

Sandra Fish of the Colorado Sun would've caught that before it went to print!
The paper asks readers to make Colorado "Red Again" …. which wouldn't have been a thing in 1967.
Grace for the typo is the only option…. and I hope Republicans will buy the premise, so when 2024 results disappoint AGAIN, they will consider the status of their party and kick MAGA into a separate existence.
I doubt that will happen. This is the Republican party from now on. There is no "reasonable Republican" if they were reasonable they became Democrats or have been political assassinated. Thankfully Kelly Maher is among their victims and if she's smart she will turn her back on Republicans and focus on something real… REVENGE.
In 1967; "Making Colorado Red Again" would have revved up all f the Cold Warriors to protest that the Commies were coming to take over our American Way of Life!
Remember when dictators like Putin were feared and hated, not romanticized and celebrated? Should we be nostalgic for the Good Old Days?
"when 2024 results disappoint AGAIN, they will consider the status of their party and kick MAGA into a separate existence."
Aint gonna happen.
When they see the 2024 results are virtually the same as the 2022 results, their solution is to double down on what they have been doing.
Their approach: Do the same thing over and over again and eventually you'll get a better result.
They will also turn inward on themselves and further purge the non-true believers.
How do turn that to our advantage? For fun and profit?
Left to their own devices, they will probably start culling the herd.
They're bat shit crazy and heavily armed.
Just stay out of their line of fire.
Isn't it a felony telling people the wrong date? And I'm guessing that it was inadvertent is not a defense?
It would be funny if they're charged for this.
