    1. Unfortunately.

I literally can't think of anything Trump could do to lose support. Nothing. Everything he does or says is justified by his rabid base and by enough "Well at least he's not one of those Democrats" Republicans that he can't lose support.

Trump could die and Republicans would argue that he should still be President.

But if "Well at least he's not one of those Democrats" is good enough for Trump, why isn't it good enough for the other Republican candidates? I think Republicans started changing how they define Americans over a decade ago. Many of them don't even consider Democrats as Americans. In 2016, the MAGA movement redefined what it is to be a Republican, so many Republican's now don't even consider non-MAGA Republicans to be Republicans.

They're using exclusion to feel special and they feel so special they don't care what it does to the rest of us. They'll just keep worshipping their God-King at the expense of everything else.

      1. By dying. That's about the only way he is defeated.

I hate to sound morbid but facts are facts, and while many of us talk about Joe Biden's age being an issue, Trump is only a couple of years younger. But Trump is also morbidly obese (yeah, right, 215 pounds…..LOL) and does nothing for exercise except lift his massive ass out of a golf cart. I dare say that Biden is probably in better physical health than Trump is.

The question is what happens if Trump dies before the election. The problem with most dictatorships is that the leader doesn't dare provide for a successor. I'm guessing if it were to happen in the next month or two, there would be a gaggle of MAGAts entering the late primaries offering to carry the torch of the late dear leader (i.e., Josh Hawley, J.D. Vance, Tom "Vaginal Driness" Cotton, Meatball Ron DeSantis, Greg Abbott, Kristi Gnome, and a few House nut jobs). Hell, even Vivek might re-enter the race claiming to be Eric Trump's long lost twin brother and therefore, a qualified heir.

The MAGA crowd will not be able to process this. First, at least one-third of the MAGAt will believe that dear leader was assassinated. Another third will believe that he is secretly still alive and waiting for his time to reappear with his VEEP running mate, JFK, Jr. They would really descend into being like the Star Trek Borg when the drones were disconnected from the central vinculum.

If Trump should meet his maker closer to the election, of course, his VEEP candidate would be able to make a credible claim to being the heir or heiress to the MAGA throne. So, pay close attention to whomever Trump selects as VEEP.

        1. Dumpy has a horrible diet and does not exercise. Riding a golf cart doesn't count. Biden, age and all, is in excellent shape, exercises occasionally, and has longevitiy genes in his family.  Last week I was perusing if I could somehow piss on Trump's grave after he died and said, WTF, lets google it. So much freaking material, including a whole subreddit. Damn a lot of people share my same opinion !

          1. Melania's mother's funeral is on Thursday. She was two years younger than her son in law when she died.

Anyone know in which hole she is going to be planted?

    1. Turnout wasn't in "droves" — 110,000 showed up, and Trump got just over half, a bit over 56,000 (51% and change).

In 2016, when things were still competitive, he got about 45,000 of the 180,000+ who showed up.  8 years on, a whole term as *resident, widespread media commentary about how he's going to have a run-away success in getting the nomination, and he added about 10,000 votes

The most encouraging point of analysis I saw came from WAPO's David von Drehle:

In the state’s empty reaches, he [Trump] rolled up majorities worthy of a tin-pot dictator. Take a precinct of Kossuth County, north of Algona, near the South Dakota border. All of 38 voters gathered to caucus, and 33 of them went for Trump. Or the precinct of Appanoose County, down in the southeast corner of the state, that mustered all of 69 voters, with 55 of them choosing Trump.

Huge margins among sparse populations gave Trump an appearance of invulnerability. But the closer the race drew to a population center — someplace big enough to have a Costco or a Chick-fil-A — the weaker he appeared. Haley, the preferred candidate of never-Trump Republicans and independent voters, actually beat the former president in multiple precincts of Des Moines, Iowa City, Ames, Cedar Rapids, Davenport and so on.

Recent history teaches us that this year’s general election will be won or lost on precisely that ground, not in farm country but in the Chick-fil-A precincts. In these places, Trump’s turnout was unimpressive, bordering on weak.

      1. Yet you can rest assured that liberal journalists, in an effort to seem "bipartisan", will go on ""Trump Safaris" to those little diners in small towns, where the every regurgitated word and conspiracy theory will be treated like golden nuggets of newsworthiness.

And everyone will be soooo surprised when the general election doesnt follow the polling. Again.

  1. It is almost assured that Colorado's attempt to keep Trump off our ballot will be overtuned by SCOTUS.  So can you guess the reasoning behind their foregone conclusion?  Here are some ideas:
