Lamborn's 'banner year' on the Hill

Colorado, you know who loved this worst Congress in history that we have all just barely endured, the one just ended, the session of chaos and incompetence in which Republican members ate each other on live TV and shat on each other behind closed doors and did nothing of substance for the American people? You guessed it — Doug Lamborn, the Fighting Fifth District’s forever-man in Congress.

This is how he launches his year-end wrap-up newsletter to constituents:

“This was a banner year for my time in Congress so far and for the constituents of Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District. In 2023, House Republicans passed major legislation like H.R. 2 to secure our southern border and H.R. 6126 to provide Israel with much needed aid in the wake of the deathly attacks by Hamas.”

Yes, a banner year. You know where those two bills are going, Colorado? Where else? Into the shitter. They will not be laws. They were written for TV, not for you and me.

“The first year of the 118th Congress has been a remarkable year,” is how Lamborn signs off. Alright, yes. We all can agree it has been a super remarkable session, brought to us by Doug Lamborn and the Republican House majority.
