  1. Morning. If Kevin McCarthy gets the debt ceiling done, I am pretty sure he's out as speaker for punking the mouth breathers. Freedom Caucus can never do the responsible thing and will always try to punish those who do.

    1. Yep.

We are at an inflection point, I think. This is the “hill” the Magats have chosen. I read a piece somewhere that said, “This is when the hostage gets released”. There is considerable agreement among pundits, columnists, and windbags of all sorts, who are giving Uncle Joe mucho kudos on his deft handling of the “Golden Retriever of a man”, Kevin McCarthy.

Just as Obama, once having decided to stop listening to Larry Sommers, outplayed Boehner routinely, president Biden has, once again, left the GQP looking around at each other saying, “What just happened”?

The next 72 hrs. should be heaven for popcorn lovers.

    1. He and Paul Gosar's sibling need to form a support group.

Got me thinking. About 25 years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting briefly with Candace Gingrich, the younger, half-sister of the Newt. It was at a GLBT event. (It was only GLBT back then.)

The obvious question came up. She said that while she may love her brother, she definitely did not agree with his politics.

            1. Yep. Not good beer. I had a sixpack when some guy got several hundred dollars for one. A week later the paper was full of ads and the price fell immediately to about 8 dollars. Yeah…I remember.

          1. I think you really want to keep it focused on Republicans.

Pretty certain that you'd get a loud AMEN from Liz Cheney's sister (and her wife).

And "Adam Laxalt, a Republican candidate for a closely run Senate seat in Nevada, was faced with 14 members of his family endorsing his opponent"

        1. Oh, that's right.

Love his PSA for separation of church and state: "Ron Reagan, Jr. Life-long atheist. Not afraid of hell."
