Morning. If Kevin McCarthy gets the debt ceiling done, I am pretty sure he's out as speaker for punking the mouth breathers. Freedom Caucus can never do the responsible thing and will always try to punish those who do.

      Yep.

We are at an inflection point, I think. This is the “hill” the Magats have chosen. I read a piece somewhere that said, “This is when the hostage gets released”. There is considerable agreement among pundits, columnists, and windbags of all sorts, who are giving Uncle Joe mucho kudos on his deft handling of the “Golden Retriever of a man”, Kevin McCarthy.

Just as Obama, once having decided to stop listening to Larry Sommers, outplayed Boehner routinely, president Biden has, once again, left the GQP looking around at each other saying, “What just happened”?

The next 72 hrs. should be heaven for popcorn lovers.

Well, I for one enjoyed reading that Charles Tuberville, Sen. Tommy Tuberville's brother, has distanced himself from the not-so-honorable Senator over his remarks:

“What I’m trying to say is that, I DO NOT agree with any of the vile rhetoric coming out of his mouth. Please don’t confuse my brother with me. Thanks, Charles Tuberville.”

He and Paul Gosar's sibling need to form a support group.

Got me thinking. About 25 years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting briefly with Candace Gingrich, the younger, half-sister of the Newt. It was at a GLBT event. (It was only GLBT back then.)

The obvious question came up. She said that while she may love her brother, she definitely did not agree with his politics.
