(At least he’s not my doctor! – promoted by ProgressiveCowgirl)
The latest example of the Republican Party’s, um, problem with women: freshman Rep. Dr. Scott DesJarlais from Tennessee, who is now facing an audio tape that HE HIMSELF recorded in which he argues with a patient whom he impregnated while cheating on his then wife.
Styling himself a strict pro-life, family-values candidate, in the tape Dr. DesJarlais can be heard bickering with the woman, trying to get her to have an abortion before she’s too far along with her pregnancy. She asks if he’ll at least accompany her to the abortion, and he complains that he doesn’t have time but will “try” to.
DesJarlais’ response to the charges is to complain about his opponent’s “personal attacks,” yet his own campaign has already tried to make hay about his opponent’s alleged tax return irregularities.
