About a month to go in the Denver Mayor’s race, and this 9News-commissioned poll still has 58% of respondents undecided. 11 candidates polling at between 2% and 5%. No telling if this is sort of how it will look come Election Day, but it doesn’t look to me as if anyone is running away with this race!

Other than the lone G☭Per, are there any policy differences among the candidates?
I think so, but I don't have intimate knowledge of many of the candidates. For just a really general idea, you could try comparing candidates like Terrance Roberts or Ean Thomas Tafoya to folks like Kelly Brough or Chris Hansen, and I think you'd see major differences.
I believe John in Denver shared this link from Denverite, an online source that's doing a good job on the race. It's got at least a short story on all 17 candidates, and analyses of some number of candidate policy proposals.

Just saw back-to-back TV commercials by Chris Hansen, Andy Rougeuot, and Mike Johnston. Hansen and Rougeuot were talking about getting rid of "urban camping" while Johnston talked about education.
Question: Does the Denver mayor have a seat on the school board?
No seat at all…He's not my top choice, but he's doing better than Hansen on homelessness and crime if Hansen's commercial tells us much.
Yes. Huge differences…in particular at the intersection of homelessness, drug policy, and criminal justice. To me, this is where Calderon, Tafoya, Roberts, Walsh and, to some extent, Herod stand out.

Bill in Texas to give you a tax break for having children, but there's a catch. You need to be straight-hetero couple homeowner who has never divorced. Ten kids allows you to eliminate your property tax entirely
Well, that "never divorced" qualifier should shorten the list of those eligible.
That looks like one of those charity scams where Texas never has to pay out. But if they tried this in Utah, it might bankrupt the state.
Be happy – Amazon stops construction in Arlington, VA. Hope that is not behind a paywall.
I read today that Fox has a “soft ban” on Trump making any more appearances. I also learned he hasn’t appeared on Fox since last September, which was pretty surprising to me. You might not have noticed, but you just don’t see him as much anymore. People are finally moving on, red hats excepted.
Some things never change though with the way media coverage evolves. When we do away with one shameless Republican/MAGA/Tea Party asshole another one just pops up right in their place. Rule #1 is there always has to be a giant turd in the media punchbowl. Hi Ron Desantis!
Happy Friday Polsters…

So proud of my alma mater Angels. This is what democracy looks like!
The young people participating in the Denver Urban Debate League last weekend also gave me some hope for the future. Thank you, John in Denver, for bugging me until I judged at the DUDL tournament. It was an inspiring experience.
