She was the one who was afraid to run for re-election in her less D-slanted district after redistricting so ran in an adjacent district? And the D candidate in her old district ended up winning just the same?

nice timing … how long is it going to take for the vacancy committee to assemble and find someone to take over?
Vacancy committees can form and do business quickly, but I can't imagine the 120-day session won't be somewhere between 7-14 days done before they name a replacement. The replacement will miss the pomp and circumstance of the first few days, no biggie, but will have to scramble to get up to speed with bills and committees.
10 days notice to a vacancy committee is required. So they could have someone new by the end of next week.
Former U.S. Congressman David Skaggs is running for the HD 12 seat, per Colorado Politics. I'd have to cancel my earlier comment about the new Rep getting up to speed if he's who wins!
